[name_m]Just[/name_m] wondering, how people feel about using [name_f]Lux[/name_f] as a middle name for a boy?
I recently came across a brand new little boy named [name_m]Cassius[/name_m] [name_f]Lux[/name_f]. I think I really like [name_f]Lux[/name_f] as a mn option.
On here its listed as a female name, but can is be used on a boy?

I think it’s okay for a middle name.
Of course [name_f]Lux[/name_f] can be used on a boy. [name_m]Cassius[/name_m] [name_f]Lux[/name_f] sounds like a stage name for a male stripper though. 
I honestly don’t see it leaning towards one gender or the other so I think it’d be fine as a middle name, especially since (I don’t think) it’s not that popular.
name anything other than a bar of soap [name_f]Lux[/name_f]!
It has a cool sound but in the sense that deluxe is a fun word to say.
It brings to mind materialism, money, and Las [name_f]Vegas[/name_f].
There are some great names with an X sound though.
@lesliemarion … I am happy you commented because I would never have made a connection between the name [name_f]Lux[/name_f] & the word deluxe … I definitely did not have it pegged as a materialistic word or money/las vegas association. I haven’t personally heard of the soap [name_f]Lux[/name_f] either.

To me it just was a nice one-syllable mn instead of the run-of-the-mill normal names, that (I think I heard along the line) means [name_m]Light[/name_m]?

Yes, [name_f]LUX[/name_f] means light in latin.
I always though of it as strange on a girl, but hey whatever. I think it would be fine as a middle name for either gender.
I do love [name_f]Lux[/name_f] as a girl name, but [name_m]Cassius[/name_m] [name_f]Lux[/name_f] is simply lovely. [name_f]Lux[/name_f] is actually used for both girls and boys, so you shouldn’t be too worried about it!
[name_f]Lux[/name_f] is definitely unisex - it’s a straight-out latin word. Photographers measure units of light in lux. It’s a great middle name. [name_m]Light[/name_m] of my life, bright light, light-hearted, shining light, light in the dark… all beautiful images.

There are so many latin phrases using this word.
I wouldn’t use [name_f]Lux[/name_f] as a first name for a boy but as a middle it’s great! There is nothing that really sounds feminine about it imo and it’s a word name so why can’t it be unisex? It’s not that different from [name_u]Pax[/name_u] (peace in latin) which is considered a male name.
