Or does it have to be [name]Ginny[/name]? I prefer the look and sound of [name]Jenny[/name], and [name]LOVE[/name] the name [name]Virginia[/name] (and no other [name]Jenny[/name] names). Or maybe if her first name was [name]Virginia[/name] and one of her middles was the same as mine (Jenness)… Then she’d sort of have a double claim to [name]Jenny[/name]… Or am I really reaching?
Like you, I love the nickname [name]Jenny[/name]… I’ve been trying to make myself fall in love with a full name for it, but I just haven’t yet.
Anyway, I do think you could call a [name]Virginia[/name] “[name]Jenny[/name].” Since [name]Ginny[/name] and [name]Jenny[/name] are pretty similar in sound, there should be no problem in calling her [name]Jenny[/name].
Doing [name]Virginia[/name] _____ Jenness might be a bit of a stretch, only because Jenness is the second middle name. If it was the first, it might not be too big of a deal, but [name]Virginia[/name] Jenness doesn’t have the best flow to it.
So, to reiterate my answer to the main question, yes, I definitely think a [name]Virginia[/name] could go by [name]Jenny[/name]. No doubt in my mind. If [name]Richard[/name] can go by [name]Dick[/name], then [name]Virginia[/name] can be called [name]Jenny[/name].
(Maybe that’s a bad analogy…but I think you get what I’m saying. Lol)
Sure you can! But, personally I like Jenness as a first name instead. It honors you and you also get a “[name]Jenny[/name].” When I was in college there was a “Jeness” that lived down the hall from me. She is the only one I’ve ever heard of and I love that name.
BTW: Is it a “rhymes with [name]Dennis[/name] or finesse?” [name]Just[/name] curious.
Yeah, I think so, and I think using Jenness as a middle name is perfect! [name]Virginia[/name] [name]Violet[/name] Jenness, [name]Virginia[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] Jenness? I have no idea…
It’s cute, though!
[name]Lemon[/name]
You knew a Jennes? Really? Wow, I’ve never heard of anyone with Jenness as a first name! Rumor has it that everyone with a surname Jenness (which includes me, though it’s not my actual surname) is related! I wonder if I’m related to your college friend!
[name]Do[/name] you really think it works as a first name? I have always LOVED it as my middle, but haven’t really considered it as a first name. I would be afraid of spelling and pronunciation problems, since no one ever got it right and it was only my middle. But we have those issues with [name]Dashiell[/name] and it’s not that big of a deal. Hmm, I’ll have to give that some thought. I really love [name]Jenny[/name]. I tried to go by [name]Jenny[/name], but it didn’t stick!
As for prn. It rhymes with finesse! I never even thought of that before! It definitely doesn’t sound like [name]Dennis[/name] at all! It’s sorta like [name]Vanessa[/name] but with a J and without the A!
I’m glad you guys think [name]Jenny[/name] works for [name]Virginia[/name]. [name]Virginia[/name] is making a play for third place. And i love [name]Jenny[/name] but haven’t quite decided yet that I really want one. I do like the [name]Ginger[/name] option, so vintage!
Yes you can. I used to know a [name]Virginia[/name] nn [name]Gen[/name].
I think you can. I know a [name]Virginia[/name] “[name]Jenna[/name]”
Yes totally cute:)
