Can you help me find a name with meaning?

DH and I are struggling to agree on a name for our little girl, due [name_u]March[/name_u] 9. Yes we have plenty of time to find the right one but we also want to be certain that it is.

For fun, or possibly for an idea, I’ve been looking at names with meaning to us. We got engaged in an apple orchard, and we got married in an azalea garden.

Any ideas related to these themes?

My mind instantly went to [name_f]Orchid[/name_f] and [name_f]Azalea[/name_f].

Other names with meanings or sounds that may relate to your memorable settings :
Azelie
[name_f]Ora[/name_f]
[name_f]Blossom[/name_f]
[name_u]Denver[/name_u]
[name_f]Meadow[/name_f]
[name_u]Carmel[/name_u]
[name_u]Carmen[/name_u]

And may I also suggest maybe the month or season or day you got married/engaged. [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]April[/name_f], [name_f]Autumn[/name_f], [name_u]Winter[/name_u], [name_u]December[/name_u], [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f], etc make nice names.

Looking at your signature, I can see that you like more familiar names with modern classics, or revival names for firsts and more popular middles. So while [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] or [name_f]Orchid[/name_f] might be fitting choices, they seem quite a way out of your style.

Would you consider [name_f]Flora[/name_f]? Or [name_u]Gardner[/name_u] for a middle name.
[name_m]Garth[/name_m] is from a surname meaning ‘gardner’. It also fits very well into your current style.
[name_f]Avalon[/name_f] is related to the Welsh word ‘afal’ that means apple.

[name_m]Garth[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]
[name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_u]Gardner[/name_u]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Avalon[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Avalon[/name_f] [name_f]Riana[/name_f]

The ones in my signature are already my kids

[name_f]Pomona[/name_f] and [name_f]Pomeline[/name_f] mean “apple”
[name_f]Melora[/name_f] means “golden apple”
[name_f]Avalon[/name_f] means “island of apples”
[name_f]Zelie[/name_f] could be a diminutive for [name_f]Azalea[/name_f]
[name_f]Anthea[/name_f] means “flowery”
[name_f]Ardith[/name_f] means “flowering field”
[name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] means “fair flower”
[name_f]Nizana[/name_f] means “a flower bud”

For the boys, flower/fruit themes are rare:
[name_m]Eustace[/name_m] means “fruitful and productive”
[name_u]Florian[/name_u]/[name_m]Florent[/name_m]/Floren means “flower”

I was going to suggest [name_u]Eden[/name_u] as a reference to a garden, but it’s probably too close to [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] and [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] You could use Orchard or Garden as a mn though. I like the suggestion of [name_f]Zelie[/name_f]/Zellie for Azelea too. You could use the month of your engagement or wedding as first or mns.

I don’t have any ideas that haven’t already been suggested, unfortunately. However, maybe some suggestions based on your kids’ names? [name_m]Ethan[/name_m], [name_u]Aidan[/name_u], [name_m]Julian[/name_m], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_m]Silas[/name_m], and…

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Leah[/name_f]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]
[name_f]Linnea[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_f]Bethany[/name_f]
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f]
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f]

Running with the apple idea, here are some names from apple varieties:

[name_f]Ambrosia[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
[name_f]Autumn[/name_f]
[name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Holly[/name_f]
[name_f]Katherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_u]Monroe[/name_u]
[name_f]Opal[/name_f]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Priscilla[/name_f]
[name_f]Florina[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Sansa[/name_f]
[name_f]Virginia[/name_f]
[name_f]Bella[/name_f]

Ooops I’m sorry!
[name_f]Avalon[/name_f] and [name_m]Garth[/name_m] would still be great options though.

[name_f]Avalon[/name_f] [name_f]Celia[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] would match [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]'s names.
[name_m]Garth[/name_m] + a family name from history would make the best combination I think.

[name_f]Avalon[/name_f] would be a great choice imo, but then I do have a thing for the Arthurian legends - if you didn’t like that association it could be a little awkward.

I love [name_f]Azalea[/name_f]!

[name_m]Pippin[/name_m] is another type of apple.

[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] means to gather, reap, harvest. That makes me think of orchards.

[name_f]Alma[/name_f] is Hungarian for “apple” and is already an established name.
