Hello. I am new here and jumping straight in. My DH and I have decided to try for number 3 and I’m distracting myself by looking at names.
My existing two children are:
[name]Hugo[/name] [name]Thomas[/name]
[name]Olive[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
I’m looking for a girl and a boy name to go with these names as I like things to match.
So my rules are:
2 syllables
Must contain an ‘o’
Not start with an H or an O
Not be shortened to a nn
Of English or Latin or Germanic origin.
Can’t be a popular name but can’t be one that people ask “huh??? [name]How[/name] do you SPELL that?”
Old fashioned and classic without being old man/lady or daggy
Not too cutesy, esp for a girls name. Would have to suit a president or a company CEO in later life (without projecting career choices not the as yet not conceived poor kid)
I like boys names such as [name]Asher[/name], [name]Jude[/name], [name]George[/name]… But only [name]George[/name] could really fit my rules at a stretch. Girls names are harder for me but I quite like [name]Juliet[/name] and [name]Isabel[/name] if I were ignoring my rules. I like [name]Violet[/name] too which suits my rules if you pronounce it [name]Vi[/name]-let as opposed to [name]Vi[/name]-o-let but it can be shortened to [name]Vi[/name] which is NMS.
Thanks in advance! Can you see why I’m having troubles?
