Can you tell me what you think of my boy and girl names?

We’re pretty settled on these names, just wanted to get some feedback! [name]How[/name] do these names feel to you? [name]Do[/name] you prefer other variations of these names? [name]How[/name] do you see these names aging? Any other thoughts would be appreciated!

Boy
[name]Ronan[/name] [name]Pierce[/name]

Girl
[name]Riva[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name]

I [name]LOVE[/name] the boy’s name and the girls name intrigues me.

[name]Riva[/name] is really interesting, I think I like it. I slightly prefer [name]Rivka[/name], but I honestly think [name]Riva[/name] is more usable. I adore [name]Cordelia[/name] and I think [name]Riva[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name] is really neat.

Oh and I think they will age just fine.

I prefer [name]Rowan[/name] to [name]Ronan[/name], and [name]Pierce[/name] as a verb is pretty grotty. I’d prefer [name]Rivka[/name] for [name]Riva[/name], but [name]Cordelia[/name] is perfect.

Thanks for the feedback!

I do like [name]Rowan[/name], but I prefer for a girl, and DH just says no to that so it came off the table.

I know [name]Rivka[/name] is a traditional Jewish name, and we are not Jewish. I know [name]Riva[/name] is too, but feel it’s less obvious so we can pull it off? I also find the hard “ka” sound in [name]Rivka[/name] doesn’t go well with the middle name [name]Cordelia[/name], nor does it flow well with my other kids names.

I like [name]Ronan[/name] [name]Pierce[/name] very much. [name]Ronan[/name] is the only spelling I would use. I prefer [name]Piers[/name], but [name]Pierce[/name] is fine too.

[name]Riva[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name] - I like the combination. [name]Riva[/name] is not a name I love but there is nothing wrong with it. [name]Reva[/name] or [name]Riva[/name] are fine.

I don’t see any aging problem with either of these names - neither of them is cutesy or childish.

I really like them. They are different yet still legitimate names. [name]Both[/name] are beautiful!

I love both first names. Since neither are trendy, I think they’ll age well. [name]Pierce[/name] I also like, but [name]Cordelia[/name] sounds a little stuffy to me.

[name]LOVE[/name] [name]Ronan[/name] [name]Pierce[/name]! I really like [name]Cordelia[/name] but I’m not sure about [name]Riva[/name]. It’s not bad but I almost want to say it like “river” but with an accent, though I’m pretty sure it’s ree-va isn’t it? It’s different and interesting but not sure if I like it.

I like the name [name]Ronan[/name] [name]Pierce[/name]! But [name]Riva[/name] sounds a little to hard for me, and it sounds like that might rhyme?

[name]Love[/name] [name]Ronan[/name]. It means little seal. And the etymology is pretty transparent.

[name]Ronan[/name] is interesting, I like the nn [name]Ro[/name]

I love [name]Cordelia[/name] ([name]Cory[/name], [name]Delia[/name], [name]Cora[/name], [name]Lia[/name]). Not so fond of it with another name ending in -a

[name]Both[/name] names sound very strong and beautiful ([name]Riva[/name]) and handsome ([name]Ronan[/name]) to me. I like the spellings/forms you chose. I prefer [name]Riva[/name] over [name]Rivka[/name] in [name]America[/name] as I think it might be softer and easier to pronounce with most American accents. The only concern I might have with [name]Riva[/name] is that some people might mistaken the name as [name]Reba[/name]. I am having the same “sound-alike” concerns with some of my faves for our [name]September[/name] baby… *sigh. I have not made my mind up yet if I think it is a big enough issue to take the name off my list.
