[name_m]The[/name_m] full explanation has been posted in a few other threads, but short answer no because of the no picture uploads rule implemented the end of last year. If you try to change your profile picture you cannot upload a new one and they have said it’s not a priority to fix that as of now, but perhaps in the future that will change

This “no photos rule” doesn’t seem to apply to new users. I am seeing so many new users with avatars.

A lot of them seem like bots/fake accounts too which is even weirder to me!
On another thread there was some speculation that it is a Gravatar which is linked to your email. I tried setting one up but it didn’t work, so I wondered if it had to be set up before you make the account maybe. If these accounts already have this type of avatar set up that might be how they’re getting a profile pic?
But that’s the only explanation I’ve seen anyone able to come up with! I wish we could get something from the developers or whoever works on this stuff in the background just to clarify
