Can't decide between Sawyer or River

Hello,
My husband and I both love the names [name]Sawyer[/name] and [name]River[/name] for our second son. Our first is named [name]Wyatt[/name] and we think both [name]Sawyer[/name] and [name]River[/name] have the same “feel” as [name]Wyatt[/name]. I am worried that [name]Sawyer[/name] might become used more for girls in the coming years and [name]River[/name] may be too trendy. What do you think? Any other names that we might like?

[name]Wyatt[/name] [name]Sawyer[/name] sounds the best. I dont think [name]Sawyer[/name] will be used too much by girls and I only know one [name]River[/name]

[name]Sawyer[/name]

I really like the both of them [name]Wyatt[/name] & [name]Sawyer[/name] or [name]Wyatt[/name] & [name]River[/name]… Depends really, [name]Sawyer[/name] has a bit more of a classy southern feel and [name]River[/name] is just classy… Initially I was thinking [name]River[/name], however, the more I write, the more [name]Sawyer[/name] is growing on me… I’m voting [name]Sawyer[/name], but on the condition that the next baby boy is [name]River[/name] ;).

While I like both [name]River[/name] and [name]Sawyer[/name] I vote [name]Sawyer[/name]. It seems to have the same southern cowboy charm as [name]Wyatt[/name] while [name]River[/name] feels more trendy and kind of flower child to me.

[name]Sawyer[/name]

Yes, like alexa said, [name]Sawyer[/name] and [name]Wyatt[/name] have a cowboy charm to them. I think that it’s possible that both [name]Sawyer[/name] and [name]River[/name] could be used for girls to a limited extent in the future, but between the two I’d still go with [name]Sawyer[/name] anyway. [name]River[/name] does feel a little to trendy alongside [name]Wyatt[/name] for me. And I like the look of [name]Sawyer[/name] and [name]Wyatt[/name] next to each other, with the ‘wy’ in both of them- it doesn’t make they matchy matchy or rhyming, but it’s a subtle echo. I can imagine them as cute little boys and as grown up brothers as well.

[name]River[/name] definatly!! With [name]Wyatt[/name] and [name]Sawyer[/name] to many w’s and y’s. I love river i would name my child that.

[name]River[/name]! I love the sound and think it’s slowly becoming more mainstream, but won’t ever be popular. [name]Sawyer[/name] sounds too close to [name]Wyatt[/name] and also just has kind of an awkward ring to it.

Interesting choice because they are differnt than each other in feel, tome. [name]River[/name] may be a bit earthy, 70s, although Id like it. [name]Sawyer[/name] makes me think of [name]Huck[/name] [name]FInn[/name] and [name]Tom[/name] [name]Sawyer[/name], and is very boyish to me. I think I like [name]Sawyer[/name] better.

agreed

To me, honestly, [name]River[/name] sounds more like a girls name than [name]Sawyer[/name]. Plus, [name]Sawyer[/name] is uber masculine to me b/c I’m a big fan of LOST and that character on LOST is a stud.

I think [name]Wyatt[/name] and [name]Sawyer[/name] sound best together b/c they both have a rustic/ handsome feel, whereas [name]River[/name] sounds more “hippie” than either of them.

My vote is for [name]Sawyer[/name]. I love it.

I vote for [name]Sawyer[/name], too. It “fits” with [name]Wyatt[/name] better-- I actually love that combo of sibling names. Nice work! [name]River[/name] sounds like an earth child and a bit feminine to me, while [name]Sawyer[/name] and [name]Wyatt[/name] both sound masculine. [name]Love[/name] it.

[name]River[/name] will stand the test of time (because of the earthiness) in my opinion. [name]Sawyer[/name] is trendy but will date more easily and I think it is ‘going to the girls’.

I think [name]Sawyer[/name] is a better match for [name]Wyatt[/name] in terms of gender identity and style.

I like the name [name]Sawyer[/name].

[name]Sawyer[/name] compliments [name]Wyatt[/name] better than [name]River[/name]. [name]River[/name] is more trendy and [name]Sawyer[/name] more country. I’ve heard of one girl named [name]River[/name], but never a girl [name]Sawyer[/name]. I think they are both safe choices to use on boys, but I could see [name]River[/name] becoming unisex before [name]Sawyer[/name] ever does.
