WDYT of these? They’ve been bouncing around in my head all weekend and I am starting to feel like I could see myself using any of them.
[name]Zara[/name]
[name]Elisabeth[/name] (no clue on nicknames, but I could see me using [name]Ella[/name], [name]Elise[/name], [name]Elisa[/name], [name]Lily[/name], [name]Lilibet[/name], or even [name]Izzy[/name].)
[name]Josephine[/name] “[name]Posy[/name]”
[name]Genevieve[/name] “[name]Evie[/name]”
[name]One[/name] of them will likely replace [name]Eve[/name] in my signature.
I love them all but [name]Genevieve[/name] is my favorite! My husband would never agree to it for a child so I’ve given the name to my beloved & beautiful van
I like [name]Josephine[/name] the best for you. I’m not sure how to describe your naming style… Your favorites all have a calm feel to them and may or may not be classics. All are a little more modern but still timeless, if that makes sense. [name]Josephine[/name] fits that description to me even though it weighs quite heavy on the classic scale.
I’m not a [name]Genevieve[/name] fan, personally. [name]Zara[/name] is very energetic and spunky. [name]Elisabeth[/name] is just lovely in every way. I prefer the “s” spelling as well, because my favorite [name]Elisabeth[/name] nicknames are [name]Bessie[/name] and [name]Betsy[/name]. The “s” spelling makes more sense with those nicknames.
[name]Josephine[/name] is lovely! As you can see in my signature… I also love the nn [name]Posey[/name] - I disliked it when I first heard it but now I think it’s just too cute!
While I love all of these names, [name]Zara[/name] and [name]Elizabeth[/name] are standouts to me. I think a lot of people view [name]Elizabeth[/name] as “boring”, but not me - it’s got SO many nickname possibilities and even if you use the whole name, I honestly don’t hear “[name]Elizabeth[/name]” in it’s full form very often.
I love the spunky and exotic flair of [name]Zara[/name], and the royal touch. I prefer [name]Elizabeth[/name] to [name]Elisabeth[/name], but both are classic in the best way. [name]Zara[/name] [name]Phillips[/name]’ second middle name is actually [name]Elizabeth[/name] (after the [name]Queen[/name] I think) and yes I do I love the combo. I’m not a fan of [name]Josephine[/name] but since you love [name]Posy[/name], I think [name]Josephine[/name]'s a great way to get it. And [name]Genevieve[/name] sounds very fresh yet sweet when pronounced the French way. My favourite of them is [name]Zara[/name].
Ooh. I love [name]Elisabeth[/name]. [name]Even[/name] with the s. love [name]Zara[/name] too, but I feel like [name]Josephine[/name] fits your style better. You pick such good ones, you’re making it hard!!! Lol
[name]Eve[/name] is an ultra-favorite of mine - but to replace it on your list - I would go with [name]Genevieve[/name]. My second choice would be [name]Josephine[/name]. [name]Elisabeth[/name] and [name]Zara[/name] are pretty choices too. You can’t go wrong with any of them, except people may mispronounce the first /a/ in [name]Zara[/name].
I agree with Southern [name]Maple[/name] on all counts. [name]Josephine[/name] is perfect for you.
Also favoring [name]Elisabeth[/name] myself, though I do like the Z, even if it’s more common. I like the idea of [name]Izzy[/name] as a nn.
When my husband and I started talking about names I asked him what his favorites were and he hesitantly came out with “Well… I always liked [name]Elizabeth[/name].” I thought, [name]Elizabeth[/name]? [name]How[/name] blah! Put a little soul into it man! But he was right. I find it more and more beautiful.
Oh, I know! I used to find [name]Elizabeth[/name] so boring, but now I adore [name]Elisabeth[/name]. I prefer the softer “S”, besides, the French and [name]German[/name] histories are more significant to me than the “Z” spelling (so I suppose it’s a good thing I like [name]Elisabeth[/name] more!).
I think right now [name]Zara[/name] and [name]Elisabeth[/name] are my favorites, but I really hate to give up [name]Evie[/name] and [name]Posy[/name]!
Personally, if I had to replace [name]Eve[/name] with one of your four choices, I’d pick [name]Elisabeth[/name] (and I too prefer the S.) It’s just my favorite of the four. A lovely classic.
southern.maple is right that [name]Josephine[/name] seems perfect for you, especially with the nickname [name]Posy[/name], but it has seemingly hovered on the edge of your radar for a long time. [name]Do[/name] you keep having doubts about it? If so, maybe put [name]Elisabeth[/name] on your list and set [name]Josephine[/name] aside for a while longer. If you still can’t get [name]Josephine[/name] out of your head, use it to replace [name]Elisabeth[/name]! [name]Just[/name] a thought…
Best wishes!
