We are not finding out the gender of [name_u]Baby[/name_u] but we have our boy name picked out–[name_u]Dean[/name_u] (family name). Our first choice in girl names was [name_f]Eva[/name_f] (family name) until another family member used it for their daughter recently. Now we are stuck. Ideally I would like the middle name to be [name_f]Claire[/name_f] (both mine and my mothers middle) but fitting it with first names we like and our ridiculously difficult last name (starts with R has an ‘ooo’ and ‘sh’ sounds in it and is hard to spell and pronounce) is getting difficult. Lately I’ve been liking [name_u]Noel[/name_u]/[name_f]Noelle[/name_f] as a back up middle because its pretty, we love [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] and [name_u]Baby[/name_u] is due at the end of [name_u]November[/name_u].
Names on the current list that Hubby likes: [name_f]Ada[/name_f], [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], [name_f]Eva[/name_f]
Other names (some being family names) we don’t hate but can’t seem to commit to: [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Virginia[/name_f], [name_f]Mae[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Mia[/name_f], [name_u]Eloise[/name_u].
At this point the style is all over the place and we are just looking for a name that flows and isn’t ‘basic’. Suggestions don’t have to be from the list either! My pregnant brain just can’t seem to make a choice and Hubby isn’t being much help with the decision making!
I think [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is beautiful!
I also really like [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] for you, nickname [name_u]June[/name_u]. It’s similar to [name_f]Jane[/name_f], but maybe you’d like it more.
[name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is so sweet, and so is [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] ([name_u]Quinn[/name_u] does flow into [name_f]Noelle[/name_f], but I’d say in a good way).
What about [name_f]Clara[/name_f] in first or middle place to honor the [name_f]Claire[/name_f] connection?
A name I would just throw out there because it’s cute is [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f].
One of my favorite combos is [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. Have you thought about moving [name_f]Claire[/name_f] to the fn position? I like [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]. [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] are pretty too. Some other possibilities:
You have more self-control and patience than I, because there’s no way I’d be able to wait to know the gender! Your pick for a boy is great, I love [name_u]Dean[/name_u]. I’m biased though because that’s my SO’s name =]
If there are names you just can’t commit to, I don’t think those are the names for you.
I love [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] so much, it’s definitely in my top 10. As someone suggested, you could do [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] since you want to keep that in the middle. I wish you could do [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]! It sucks that someone got to [name_f]Eva[/name_f] first =[
Let me give you some non-basic suggestions (partly based on your list, partly what I hope you would like, haha).
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the sounds of [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]! Thought of these other few inspirations from your list
[name_f]Veda[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] (had the beloved [name_f]Ada[/name_f] sound while stealing the “v” from [name_f]Eva[/name_f])
[name_f]Jayda[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_u]Quincy[/name_u] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Noa[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Etta[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
Someone else mentioned [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], and I think that’s a great name for a baby born during the holiday season. I like the name [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] a lot, and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is adorable.
I also think [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] sounds wonderful and classic. (My own [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] was born last [name_u]November[/name_u] :))
I like the name [name_f]Cora[/name_f] very much, too, but not [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] so much. If you’re fonder of alliteration than I am, it could work, though!
Hubby and I revisited names tonight over dinner. Our top four are narrowed down, for the moment, to:
#1–Eva Claire (forget that a family member already used Eva since its an honor name) #2-- a tie between: Eve Noelle or Mae Noelle (both to honor Eva from above as Mae is her middle) #4-- Claire Noelle
Thanks for all the help and suggestions! We just can’t seem to veer away from honoring great-grandma AND getting rid of Claire but we also love Noelle!
Which one do you think goes best with Dean Michael?
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Mae[/name_f] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f], I like [name_f]Mia[/name_f] as well. But the other three are my faves
I think from your top four that [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] sounds best with [name_u]Dean[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] but [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is a very close second. To me [name_f]Eva[/name_f] and [name_u]Dean[/name_u] don’t flow as well together.
