Carina or Clara

Which do you prefer and why?

Also do you think [name_f]Carina[/name_f] sufficient to honor a [name_f]Caterina[/name_f]?

[name_f]Carina[/name_f] is definitely a perfect name for honouring a [name_f]Caterina[/name_f]. Not only is [name_f]Carina[/name_f] the name [name_f]Caterina[/name_f] minus the TE, but both are from the same name family… [name_f]Catherine[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Carina[/name_f] for the associations, though [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is beautiful also.

carina definitely works as an honour for caterina. however, i do prefer clara: it’s clear, sweet, and youthful, but it would still work on any age. carina feels a bit dull and old to me.

And I think [name_f]Carina[/name_f] is more than adequate to honor someone named [name_f]Caterina[/name_f]. It’s very interesting for me to see this spelling too, it’s significantly softer looking than the [name_f]Karina[/name_f] variation

Both are gorgeous but I prefer the sweet, clear [name_f]Clara[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Carina[/name_f] is a lovely way to honor [name_f]Caterina[/name_f].

I like both [name_f]Carina[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] but think [name_f]Carina[/name_f] is the better honor name.

[name_f]Carina[/name_f] is also the name of a constellation, which gives the name a heavenly feel, and [name_f]Carina[/name_f] could also be seen to mean dear or beloved from the Latin [name_f]Cara[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Clara[/name_f] because it’s elegant, timeless and understated class.
[name_f]Carina[/name_f] is a bit anonymous in my opinion and it doesn’t posses the strong and regal vibe of [name_f]Caterina[/name_f].
I would definitely opt for [name_f]Katharina[/name_f] and then use [name_f]Carina[/name_f] or [name_f]Karina[/name_f] as a nickname!

I really love [name_f]Clara[/name_f], in part for the airiness of the sound, in part for all the lovely nerd references, and in part for the magical snowy imagery I get from the name. I’ll always associate it with The Nutracker and associated feelings of childhood wonder.

[name_f]Carina[/name_f] is pretty, but it doesn’t have any of the associations for me that make [name_f]Clara[/name_f] extra special.

Honestly, I think either name could be used to honor a [name_f]Caterina[/name_f].
