We have two daughters, [name]Kate[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] & [name]Emma[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] and are pg, due around christmas.
For a boy we think we’ve narrowed it down to [name]Connor[/name] [name]Ryan[/name],
but for a girl we’re still iffy.
I have always thought the name [name]Carly[/name] was sweet.
But i’ve came across some mixed opinions on the name, and was hoping for some “berries” help
WDYT of the name [name]Carly[/name]?
Since my top choice for a boy is [name]Connor[/name], would it be strange to have the possibility of two names starting with “C” in a sibset, while the others are different? (silly I know, but it kind of bothers me?)
[name]Carly[/name] is a touch dated, but I did meet a 5 year old [name]Carly[/name] recently!
[name]Kate[/name] [name]Emma[/name] and [name]Carly[/name]. I do think your other names fare a little better in the timelessness catagory, but it’s not bad.
Other thoughts:
[name]Cora[/name]
[name]Carla[/name] nn [name]Carly[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] nn [name]Carly[/name]
[name]Coral[/name]
[name]Callie[/name] (some would say that’s also dated though)
I like [name]Carly[/name] with your daughters’ names, but [name]Carly[/name] always seems like just a nickname for me - but for what? I’d suggest [name]Charlotte[/name] nn [name]Carly[/name] or [name]Charlie[/name], but you’ve already used it as a middle!
If you love [name]Carly[/name], you should definitely use it - there’s nothing wrong with it, and though a little dated, it’s pretty cute, and like I said, it goes well with [name]Kate[/name] and [name]Emma[/name].
But, if you’re not completely sold on it, here are some other ideas:
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Mara[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] - I think this fits in SO well with your girls’ names.
[name]Grace[/name] nn [name]Gracie[/name]
[name]Mila[/name] or [name]Mia[/name]
[name]Zoe[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name]
[name]Hailey[/name]
[name]Olivia[/name]
[name]Abigail[/name]
[name]Julie[/name]/[name]Julia[/name]/[name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Molly[/name]
[name]Isla[/name]
[name]Keira[/name]
[name]Cassandra[/name] nn [name]Cassie[/name] - I love this for you!
I prefer [name]Carly[/name] as a nickname, but I did meet a 2 year old [name]Carly[/name] the other day and it sounded very fresh among the usual [name]Lily[/name]/[name]Isabella[/name]/[name]Ava[/name] set!
i am not sure if dated is the word, but i don’t like it a lot next to [name]Kate[/name] and [name]Emma[/name] which I really like. I would think [name]Sophie[/name], [name]Maeve[/name] or [name]Claire[/name] or something like that - more classic than [name]Carly[/name] to me - somehow it just seems a bit nicknamey or something.
My little niece is named [name]Carly[/name] and it makes me love the name! It sounds adorable on a little girl. I would probably say that [name]Carla[/name] would age better but I think [name]Carly[/name] is familiar enough not to sound too cutesy as she aged.
I don’t know if it’s “dated” but it has never been a favorite of mine. Also, I find it to be rather out of place with your other names. [name]Kate[/name] and [name]Emma[/name] are both very classic, strong feminine names and [name]Carly[/name]'s rather young? [name]Young[/name] isn’t the right word but it just doesn’t have the same classic feel, if you know what I mean. What about…
My sister is named [name]Carly[/name] so I love it, but she hates it. She is 28 now and feels like it is unprofessional and gives people the wrong impression. My advice would be to give her a more sophisticated name that allows for [name]Carly[/name] as a nn. [name]How[/name] about [name]Caroline[/name]?
