[name_f]Do[/name_f] you like the name Cartia? I found it while searching for C names and I also found out it’s a name for a medication but I find it so cute lol I wanna hear your thoughts

Never heard of the medication so I don’t think that would be an issue. I’m a bit hesitant about this name only because I have no idea how to pronounce it. Is it Car-sha? Like Portia or Car-tee-a? I quite like the first pronunciation as it is quite pretty. I’m not so much a fan of the second one but there’s nothing wrong with it.
It also might make a difference what the medication is used for e.g. if it’s for Asthma or similar that’s fine but for something like viagra I wouldn’t use it.

I have been through something similar. [name_m]Cartier[/name_m]. The association with fine products, jewelry, may have had some influence, but I love the sounds. People get [name_u]Carter[/name_u] but Cartia/Cartier never got much love.
I name my speakers, [name_f]Artemisia[/name_f], Cartier… so I can say ‘Please play Clapton on Cartier.’

The sound is nice (I’m saying kah(r)-tee-uh / kah(r)-tyuh) but I’m not liking the look of it so much.

I would assume it to be an alternate spelling of Katia / Katya of which I do prefer.

Oh no I think it’s like a blood pressure medicine haha and the way I read it was Car tee a but I think the other way is cute too!

Oh it might be I didn’t think about that! I do prefer the C over the K because I think it looks softer

I too do prefer the C to the K in most cases for this reason (softer), but it just doesn’t work so well in this case I feel.

I think it is such a sweet name. There is a teen mom on youtube who called her daughter Cartia, this is a video on why she decided to: UNIQUE BABY NAME: HOW DID I PICK HER NAME?! - YouTube
Cartia comes from the Greek word ‘Cartias’ meaning the love a parent has for their child and so I think it would be so meaningful to name your child this. I wouldn’t have known that its a medication and i don’t think many other people will so hopefully that wont be a problem :joy:
