Casey for a boy?

Hubby likes [name_u]Casey[/name_u]. [name_u]Casey[/name_u] [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m]. Any opinions???

Not my favorite. The only [name_u]Casey[/name_u] that I know under the age of 18 is a boy though. I think it’s fresher on a boy, less evocative of [name_u]Casey[/name_u] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m], less low-brow feeling, but I don’t think it really ages well on either sex. On a boy I guess [name_u]Casey[/name_u] Casum comes to mind. [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m] is nicer imo. I think that [name_u]Casey[/name_u] has a bit of a dated feel to it, but it works. Does [name_m]Cassius[/name_m] appeal to you? [name_m]Cassius[/name_m] [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m] or [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m] [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u]? If you’re wondering what I think of [name_u]Casey[/name_u] on a boy, I think it’s nicer on a boy really. If you’re wondering what I think of [name_u]Casey[/name_u] in general, I think it’s OK but there are so many better names that will age better or feel more current.

I think it’s fine. It’s a little dated and a little nicknamey maybe compared to the average [name_u]Berry[/name_u]'s taste, but it works. It is one of those names that has always remained very gender neutral for me. Other cowboy names are coming in right now so this fits enough. I imagine brothers [name_m]Justin[/name_m] and [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]. Your husband. Might also like [name_u]Cody[/name_u], [name_m]Coby[/name_m], [name_m]Cole[/name_m]. I feel like I’ve heard of a lot of little [name_u]Kasen[/name_u]/[name_m]Cayson[/name_m] etc lately and [name_u]Casey[/name_u] is kind of refreshing.

You could also pick other names with initials KC maybe.

I know a guy named [name_u]Casey[/name_u]. Not a bad name =)

I think it’s fine. Though it has been feminized it’s not unheard of for a man to have that name.
Though I’d try to keep it as a nickname if I could.
If not it’s all good

Fine for a nn-but would aim for a more formal name like [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] (Or whatever) for his birth certificate. I guess just in case…Oooh love the idea of KC as nn! That is cool.

I like [name_u]Casey[/name_u]. I have two male cousins named KC and [name_u]Casey[/name_u]. It’s always been masculine to me. Plus, there’s the poem, “[name_u]Casey[/name_u] at the [name_m]Bat[/name_m].”

I know one make [name_u]Casey[/name_u] and a female [name_f]Kayce[/name_f]. I think it works on both, and would assume anyone spelling it [name_u]Casey[/name_u] is a male. I also think [name_u]Casey[/name_u] at the [name_m]Bat[/name_m] is a great reference for its applicability for a male.

Well, [name_u]Casey[/name_u] is a boy’s name, so…
I’ve never known a female [name_u]Casey[/name_u] but plenty of boys and men

HAHA

I agree with this!! I’ve known 2 female [name_u]Casey[/name_u]'s (one is [name_u]Casey[/name_u] and one is [name_f]Kayci[/name_f]) and one male [name_u]Casey[/name_u] but I strongly associate the name with males, especially with the traditional spelling.

On a girl I think [name_u]Casey[/name_u] would feel a little dated, but on a boy I like it and fits in with the cowboy trend nicely, as a pp mentioned. [name_u]Casey[/name_u] [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m] is nice too.

Yeah, it’s a boy’s name… I put it in the same realm as naming your boy [name_u]Logan[/name_u] or [name_u]Cody[/name_u]. A lot of girls have it, inexplicably (to me), but it’s still a boy’s name and is completely usable on boys.

I like it, but it seems a bit dated and while it is originally a boys name the popularity of it being used on girls throw off the appeal for me.

Growing up I only knew [name_u]Casey[/name_u] to be a boy’s name…until I met my friends mother [name_f]Kacee[/name_f].
I do not care much for the name at all, but think of it as a boy’s name…

I don’t mind it at all—my first thought was also [name_u]Casey[/name_u] at the [name_m]Bat[/name_m]. It feels perfectly masculine and a nice name, though the most recent [name_u]Casey[/name_u] I know was named for [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Cassian[/name_m].

It’s okay.

The only [name_u]Casey[/name_u] I know is a guy.

I also know a male K.C.

It’s not a name I’d choose, but it’s not terrible.

I think I’d be more willing to use K.C. personally. Something like [name_m]Knox[/name_m] [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] would be cute.

Or maybe as a nickname for [name_m]Cassian[/name_m], [name_m]Cassius[/name_m], [name_m]Caspian[/name_m], etc. I’m not super fond of male fn’s that end in the -y sound.

[name_u]Casey[/name_u] is very sporty. I’ve never seen it as a girl’s name because I’ve always known more male Caseys. It’s not something I would choose, but I like it.

Does he like Chicago [name_m]Fire[/name_m]? It makes [name_u]Casey[/name_u] sound cool. Honestly, I know one [name_u]Casey[/name_u] (male), but several [name_f]Kacee[/name_f]/[name_f]Kasie[/name_f]/[name_u]Kasey[/name_u] (females). I think on girls it isn’t very popular anymore, so it shouldn’t be a big issue.

Nice combo, and the unisex factor is not a problem [name_f]IMO[/name_f] (I think it’s usable either way).
