What are some opinions on the name [name]Cash[/name] for a girl?
Not for me. [name]Cash[/name] is a masculine occupational name.
As a NN it could be cool.
[name]Caroline[/name], [name]Caris[/name], [name]Cassandra[/name], [name]Cassia[/name]
I don’t really like it. It reads as a boys name to me.
It’s very, very masculine. I don’t like it that much. It could be a cool nickname for a name begining with “[name]Ca[/name]”.
[name]Hope[/name] that helps!
- [name]Athena[/name]
It’s extremely masculine to me. It’s the nn of our son who will be born in less than a month ([name]Cassius[/name]), so I may be biased. I definitely think of it as being extremely, extremely manly though. The sound itself is pretty harsh and it brings to mind [name]Johnny[/name] [name]Cash[/name], who does not remind me in any way of a girl. [name]One[/name] of the main reasons we chose it is because it’s SUCH a guy name. Not saying there’s anything wrong with a girl having a guy name…but this particular one strikes me as very, very odd.
[name]Cassia[/name] is beautiful.
Or one of my favorites, [name]Acacia[/name]. I suppose you could nn her [name]Cash[/name], but it would be a crying shame. I think [name]Cass[/name] is cute.
I prefer the nn [name]Cass[/name] for a girl. It’s actually pretty sweet.
I don’t like [name]Cash[/name] for either gender, but especially not for a girl. To me it’s like naming your child money or fortune, and that why I’m uncomfortable with it on a girl. It gives me the vibe that she could be a possession? Maybe not completely, but it feels tacky in more than just the usual way to me.
This exactly. It also feels like more of a nn to me, as well.
Agreed! [name]Cassia[/name] is my go to idea.
I agree that [name]Cassia[/name] would be a great way to get to [name]Cash[/name] for a girl. [name]Just[/name] [name]Cash[/name] feels very masculine, I agree, and I wouldn’t want to name my child just [name]Cash[/name], it sounds sort of pretentious and greedy to me. But I’m not the hugest fan of [name]Cassie[/name] (or [name]Cass[/name], or [name]Casey[/name]), so I think [name]Cassia[/name] nn [name]Cash[/name] would be a nice alternative.
All the best!
I agree with you 100% on this.
I don’t like [name]Cash[/name] on either gender - it feels a little tacky to me, but as a nickname it isn’t so bad. [name]Cassia[/name] is wonderful, I love that!
I haven’t read previous comments, but here’s my take. [name]Cash[/name] is a down-market name for boys, IMHO. I realize there’s the [name]Johnny[/name] [name]Cash[/name] connection, but honestly, it seriously just comes off as similar to naming your child “Ferrarri” or “Prada” - trying too hard to be something your aren’t. [name]Cash[/name] on a girl seems downright tacky. I’m sorry if that seems rude, but it’s just my perspective as an educator who deals with very young children on a daily basis. I’m definitely not a fan of [name]Cash[/name] for either gender. I don’t believe it it perceived positively.
[name]Cash[/name]?? [name]Cassia[/name] for sure.
YES. It is like [name]Diamond[/name] or [name]Bentley[/name] to me. Very showy & down market sounding. And with strange connotations of being’expensive" or being for sale.
I try to say something positive when I comment on a name but I see this name & think I would be upset if it were my own…to the point of legally changing it!
[name]Cassia[/name], [name]Cassandra[/name] or [name]Cassidy[/name] all work to get to nn [name]Cash[/name]. Especially with mn [name]Ashley[/name], [name]Aisling[/name], [name]Asher[/name] ect. [name]Even[/name] something like [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Asher[/name] could get you to nn [name]Cash[/name] if you love it & it will give her plenty of options if her feelings about the name [name]Cash[/name] are similar to mine.
What bothers me most is not that it’s masculine or noun-y (although both are true), but that it sounds very abrupt, almost incomplete.
[name]Cash[/name] on a boy makes me think cowboy, but [name]Cash[/name] on a girl makes me think stripper. Try [name]Cassia[/name] instead.
I agree with previous posters: I dislike [name]Cash[/name] for either gender, but on a girl it’s the equivalent of naming your daughter “[name]Butch[/name]”. A big no from me.
