Cassandra Substitution

I am still loving [name]Cassandra[/name] (which has been my favourite girl name for around five years now) but have recently succumbed to that most terrible of name-lover afflictions - a gradual supposition that there might be something better out there. Can anyone suggest names similar in style to [name]Cassandra[/name] (or other names in my signature) which preferably begin with a C, and flow well with [name]Eira[/name] Baudelaire (EYE-ruh [name]BOE[/name]-duh-lair) as middle names? I hope it’s not too much to ask - looking back over my post, the requirements for this imaginary name seem to be a little demanding, even for the namemaestros that make up the [name]Berry[/name] community, so please don’t worry if you can’t think of anything. I’m hoping this feeling of doubt will eventually disappear…

Thank you!

[name]Carlotta[/name]
[name]Veronica[/name]
[name]Clarissa[/name]
[name]Alessandra[/name]
[name]Carolina[/name]
[name]Coraline[/name]
[name]Antoinette[/name]
Coriolana - lol, made up feminzation of Coriolanus but still cool
Corinthia
Catriana
Cassiopea
[name]Guinevere[/name]
[name]Calypso[/name]
[name]Cordelia[/name]
[name]Beatrice[/name]

[name]Cassia[/name]. I think it means cinnamon tree

My first thought was also [name]Cassia[/name].

[name]Corisande[/name]
[name]Corinne[/name]
[name]Carlotta[/name]
[name]Bronwyn[/name]/[name]Bronwen[/name]
[name]Fiammetta[/name]
[name]Carina[/name]

[name]Cassia[/name] was my first thought as well.

[name]Cassidy[/name]
[name]Calliope[/name]
[name]Calla[/name]
[name]Candida[/name]
[name]Alexandra[/name]

[name]Cassandra[/name] [name]Madeira[/name] Baudelaire resolves the flow issue. It’s a gorgeous name!

Castalia meaning fountain of the muses!

[name]Cassandra[/name] is beautiful! I like the suggestion of [name]Cassia[/name]. What about [name]Cosima[/name]? It’s Greek for universe, the feminine of [name]Cosmo[/name]. I absolutely love it. It has the same elegant, exotic, romantic feel as [name]Cassandra[/name] to me and is so unique.

@kala_way - Oh my goodness, I absolutely love all of your suggestions, but by special favourites have to be [name]Carlotta[/name], Corinthia, [name]Cordelia[/name] and Catriana (which I had never heard before now and really actually am already in love with!) Thank you so much for commenting - I agree that someone should really have made up Coriolana before now, if only just for the awesome factor…thank you!

@slave bracelets - Thank you very much for commenting - I do like [name]Cassia[/name], but am not too fond of either the alternative pronunciation ([name]CASH[/name]-uh) or the limited nicknames ([name]Cassie[/name], [name]Cass[/name] and Sia) - thanks for the idea though! [name]Just[/name] out of interest, how did you choose your username? There might be no story behind it at all, sorry, I’m just a nosey parker…thank you again!

@tay2thestars - Ooh, [name]Corisande[/name] is beautiful, and [name]Bronwen[/name] and Fiametta are also gorgeous - these are such lovely suggestions which I never even considered, for some reason - thank you for reminding my muddled brain of the ones that slipped through the net!

@taz - [name]Calla[/name] and [name]Candida[/name] are stunning, and, again, ones I had forgotten completely! Thank you very much.

@rkrd - Thank you so much - it wasn’t so much the flow issue I had with the name, only that [name]Cassandra[/name] suddenly seemed a bit lacklustre compared to some other, more ‘out-there’ choices! I’m glad you love the name too, though. I hope it can regain its former sparkle for me crosses fingers

@larkub101 - Wow, Castalia is so beautiful! And with such a lovely meaning too - how could I have overlooked this one? Thank you for suggesting it - another name that is new to me, which I love; I am so lucky to have the Berries on hand!

@noora - I’m so happy that people seem to love [name]Cassandra[/name] - it has always been neglected somewhat, I feel, and I’m trying to make everyone see how beautiful it is without simultaneously making it more popular…tricky, I’m finding. [name]Cosima[/name] is gorgeous, but a close friend of mine has already bagged the name for future use - why must friends always do that?! Thank you so much for your help - it’s just my luck about [name]Cosima[/name]!

I really like [name]Cassandra[/name] I would suggest [name]Ceridwen[/name] or [name]Carys[/name]

I’ve been really liking Cassilda lately. That kind of fits. And I adore [name]Eira[/name], by the way.

I love [name]Cassandra[/name]! The only other name I would suggest is [name]Calandra[/name], a personal favorite

[name]Alessandra[/name]

[name]Cassandra[/name] is beautiful. Classic . familiar but not trendy. I dont think you can go wrong with it.
[name]Cassy[/name] or [name]Cassie[/name] are adorable nicknames too

@geeknamezyo - Cassilda is fantastic - I can just imagine a class register going, “[name]Isabella[/name], [name]Emily[/name], [name]Henry[/name], Cassilda, [name]James[/name]…” I’m glad you love [name]Eira[/name] too, as I think it such an underused choice (again, I’m trying not to spread the [name]Eira[/name] love too widely, as people might just snap it up. Yes, I am a bit obsessed and paranoid.) Thank you so much!

@littlemeg - Ooh, [name]Calandra[/name], that is another great choice - I actually originally took it off my list as it reminds me of chandeliers for some reason? Not a bad association to have, just a strange one. But I love it all the same. Thank you!

@gavinsmama625 - I love [name]Alessandra[/name] but would consider it strange, as my own name is a form of [name]Alexandra[/name]. But thank you for the thought - it is those regal, classic names I’m looking for!

@jenevievem - Thank you so much for the [name]Cassandra[/name] support - I’m beginning to feel like nothing has quite the same ring to it, which is a good thing, right? Thank you again.

My two thoughts were [name]Callista[/name] or my favorite, [name]Cressida[/name]. Hard C sounds are a very big guilty pleasure of mine. [name]Cressida[/name] and [name]Cassandra[/name] have actually been huge crushes lately, which is terribly unfortunate because I have a “no-C names” rule in place for any future children. So of course they all keep calling out to me in the way that only “off-limits” names can. [name]Caroline[/name], [name]Cora[/name]… I digress. I think [name]Cassandra[/name] is completely fantastic. Good luck! =]

My first thoughts were [name]Alessandra[/name] & [name]Callista[/name] and I love the suggestion of [name]Cressida[/name]! some others you might consider…

[name]Calliope[/name]
[name]Calandra[/name]
[name]Calantha[/name]
[name]Carissa[/name]
[name]Callisto[/name]
[name]Calypso[/name]
Chryseis
[name]Catalina[/name]

I adore [name]Cassandra[/name]! I think it’s an underused classic. It makes me of [name]Jane[/name] [name]Austen[/name], because it was her sister’s name.

I also thought of [name]Alessandra[/name] immediately.

C names I like and you might like:
[name]Calliope[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Corinna[/name]
[name]Coraline[/name]
[name]Camilla[/name]
[name]Callista[/name]
[name]Camellia[/name]
[name]Candace[/name]
[name]Cassiopeia[/name]
[name]Celeste[/name]
[name]Charmian[/name]
[name]Clarissa[/name]
[name]Cleopatra[/name]
[name]Cordelia[/name]

Also [name]Cassandra[/name] is a name linked to prophecy and seers. Names that also tie into this are:
[name]Delphia[/name]
[name]Sybil[/name] (which could also be spelled with an C spelling but I prefer the S versions including [name]Sibyl[/name].

Good luck!

@Amydomsmom - Oh, I do love [name]Callista[/name] and [name]Cressida[/name] - the vast majority of names on my long list are hard C names, so I really do feel your pain; and I also totally agree that it is the name[s] you know you can use under no circumstances that suddenly seem to be the exemplification of everything you are looking for in an appellation. (Sorry, just on a digression inspired by your digression, for the record, I absolutely adore your son’s name. [name]Dominic[/name] has unfortunately been grabbed by my cousin, or I would have been on it in a trice. [name]Just[/name] to say.) Thank you so much for commenting!

@alexa400 - [name]Calantha[/name] and [name]Catalina[/name] are another two old favourites - goodness, my brain is really not on form! Thank you very much!

@emilyva - Ahh, [name]Charmian[/name]! I made a thread about this name the other day, and came away discouraged, but maybe this is a sign? (Now if only the loo paper brand [name]Charmin[/name] would disappear off the face of the earth…) Also, [name]Corinna[/name] (I’m an [name]Ovid[/name] fan) and [name]Clarissa[/name] are lovely. (And [name]Sibyl[/name] is so beautiful as well) Thank you.
