Cassenia?

Was wondering what some of you thought on the name Cassenia ? Pronunciation is cuh-sen-eeh-uh. [name]Do[/name] you think the nickname [name]Cassia[/name] ([name]Cash[/name]-uh) would make sense? I would appreciate opinions  Thanks Berries!

That’s pretty! Did you make it up or did you find it somewhere? I guess my only problem with it would be that the pronunciation isn’t obvious. I wasn’t sure which syllable was stressed. And I wasn’t sure if the ending was more like “-ya” or “ee-ah.”

The name Cassenia is not something I would expect to hear, but it’s surprisingly pleasant. I really dislike that nickname though. The sound ([name]Cash[/name]-uh) makes me think of that no-talent Ke$ha person and I just get just negative feelings about the sound of it. So, good name, awful nickname in my opinion.

It’s very pretty, though I do feel more inclined to pronounce it cas-EN-ya or cas-EEN-ya. It reminds me of both [name]Cassia[/name] and [name]Jesenia[/name], which I love. I think [name]Cassia[/name] would work fine as a nickname. If it were me, I’d use a slightly more grounded middle name, such as Cassenia [name]June[/name], Cassenia [name]Olive[/name] or Cassenia [name]Belle[/name].

It’s not made up, I heard it somewhere a while back, I just can’t remember where!

I’m not sure if this is the same pn you are going for, but I pn it Cuh-seen-yuh or [name]Cas[/name]-seen-yuh. And the nickname [name]Cassia[/name] would be [name]Cass[/name]-ee-uh, like [name]Cassie[/name] with an a.

I think you might have pn problems.

My first thought for pronunciation was cas-en-ee-uh.
I like the nn [name]Cassie[/name], but not [name]Cash[/name]-uh, that doesn’t seem to mesh with the full name pronunciation. You could also use [name]Nia[/name] (knee-uh) which is sorta cute!

When I saw Cassenia, I couldn’t help but think of [name]Ksenia[/name] Semenova, a Russian gymnast, haha.

I love [name]Cassia[/name], but my first instinct is to pronounce it [name]Cass[/name]-ee-uh. I think [name]Cassia[/name](with the [name]Cash[/name]-uh) pronunciation could work as a nickname because of [name]Cas[/name],but I would be slightly confused at first because of the difference in the [name]Cas[/name] pronunciations.

Sounds like [name]Ksenia[/name], or at least how an English speaker would say that name. With the spelling Cassenia, I’d expect more stress on the beginning.

I agree, makes me think of [name]Ksenia[/name] (which I love!). The difference is [name]Ksenia[/name] ends in a “ya” and Cassenia with an “ee-ah”. I think it’s definitely a more anglicized version though. Sounds good to me!

I’ve only seen it spelled [name]Ksenia[/name] (which I’ve only heard pronounced Kah-sen-ee-ah). Cute!

I really REALLY love [name]Cassia[/name] (either cash-ah or cass-ee-ah, both are correct) but it doesn’t make a lot of sense as a NN for Cassenia, to me - admittedly I’m a fan of fairly straight forward nicknames and with Cassenia would likely go straight to [name]Cass[/name]/[name]Cassie[/name] - and [name]Cassia[/name] is a fully-formed stand-alone name in its own right.

The nickname thing just seems complicated and more room for mispronunciation. Especially if you want the cash-ah pronunciation, which [name]IMO[/name] makes it even less intuitive for Cassenia.

Of the two, personally I’d be likelier to just use [name]Cassia[/name]. It’s a pretty name, an underused botanical, and cinnamon is cool.
