Today I was reminded of an old crush when husband texted me saying he likes the sound of [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] (because it rhymes with [name_f]Lassie[/name_f] and reminds him vaguely and pleasantly of the beloved Cashew nuts).
I know my taste in names is quite outside of the box, but can one really pull off [name_u]Cass[/name_u]-ee-oh-pee-ah? I personally love it and it’s relation to the stars and constellations (such beautiful imagery) and husband seems to be open to the possibility. [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f]… Kind of makes me smile.
[name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f] is a beautiful name and I would be so excited if I met one! I think a certain type of girl could pull it off and would want to use the full name because it’s so unique and special. But at the same time I can see some people thinking it’s just too long and going by [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] instead. Once you get to 3 or 4 syllables, it seems to be a toss-up as to whether people will use the full name or a nn, whether it’s unusual or not. I can see some people would think it’s “too much” though- coming from someone who loves unusual names, the combination of unusualness and length seems to put many people off!
I’d go ahead and use it anyways though, she might love it too, as long as you don’t mind the possibility of her going by [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] if she really does hate it.
It is beautiful, and I love the imagery. It is a bit tricky to spell - especially for a primary student.
But your style is a bit quirky so I think it would fit well with your sibset.
I think Cassiopea is beautiful, modern, quirky and works well with your other children’s names. I like how it has a whole hoast of nicknames, in differnet styles, too.
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] it! Use it please!
I love it, but I prefer [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f].
I kinda fell out of love with it, but I still think it’s awesome.
I love [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f]! It’s unique and fun and nn [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] is so cute!
I know one [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f] who goes by [name_f]Cassia[/name_f]
Have you considered [name_f]Kassiani[/name_f]/[name_f]Cassiane[/name_f]? It’s equally unique and quirky but easier to pronounce
Thank you all for the feedback, we’re happy to see so many thumbs up responses! [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f] seems more and more a possibility. We’re thinking [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] as a more familiar and safe nickname and I also really love Opa and Opie which I would also use for [name_f]Olympia[/name_f], but husband doesn’t like it as much as [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f].
[name_u]Love[/name_u] it! Caz would be kind of a cool nn too in your set! What is the name for the other twin? It willl need to be something quite grand to match…how fun!
I love [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f]…
