What are some categories of names you tend to like? Categories can be anything such as certain letters or sounds, date/time period, origin, usage, connotation, meaning or anything else you can think of.

Examples of categories: B names, Italian names, names ending in -S, 1950s, Word names, Nature names, Flower names, Bilingual English/Spanish, Contains “br” sound, movie characters, unisex etc.

C/K names, H names, classic/timeless names, names that contain the “air” sound, names ending in silent E, girl A names, and names that contain the short or long “a” sound are what I’m thinking of now!

Biblical, nature, nickname names, one syllable names, family/ancestor names, old lady/man names, some celebrity/trendy names are the categories i’m thinking of now : )

Names beginning with S, names with an eye sound, names with an O ending, names from or inspired by classic literature, names that are lesser used variation of names, two syllable names

um…one-syllable girl names, 60s boy nicknames (but not the full names from which they come!), names of famous baseball players, girl names that end in -thy, girl names with “rose” in them, one-syllable virtue names, summer & spring month names (except august), and h & c names for boys!

biblical, underused, -a endings, -er endings for boys, retro

Welsh, 1980s-1990s, classic/timeless names, underused vintage & victorian names

B names, unisex names, nature names, and 1850-1940s names (old names)

For girls I like nature names, names with a European princess vibe (I’m not sure if it’s a category but sums up my top three names [name_f]Lilia[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f] (KLAA ra) & Sofia), very feminine, names with a cottagecore aesthetic and vintage/classic names.

For boys I like biblical names especially names that pay homage to my Jewish heritage, nature names, names that have that cottagecore aesthetic and classic/vintage names

Greek/celestial names are definitely my favourite, I also really love nature names but with our last name being [name_m]Woods[/name_m] there is not many we can use lol.

I have a vibe I like to go with. More modern names with classic but stylish middle names, although those tend to vary. For letters, I definitely love A, B, C & E

For girls it is: :cherry_blossom: :sparkles: :white_heart:
And for boys its either: :axe: :evergreen_tree: :fire: or :steam_locomotive: :teddy_bear: :blue_heart:

i like a lot of vintage, classic, biblical, nature / floral & gaelic names, names with 3+ syllables, month names and names that end in or contain -th. for boys i like names beginning with ca-, names beginning with j, and unisex names. for girls, i like names beginning with or containing a, e, l, m and j. a lot of my names also honour someone close to me! :dove:

It’s definitely changed over the years and I think it is funny how my son’s name ended up being the type of boy name I wouldn’t normally go for lol

Biblical, historical significance/association, vintage or old man/old lady, underused (though I do love a lot of popular names), usually short-ish names, family names, some pop culture names, nature, usually contain or start with a vowel, usually not unisex, etc

ends in -o, nature names, space related names, C names, lesser used but still familiar

Responding to my own topic:
An/en/ian ending boy’s names
Soft boys’ names
Ke- and [name_f]Ki[/name_f]- beginnings
1990s and 2000s
Unisex names for boys
Frilly/liquid 3-4 syllable girls’ names
Anglicized Irish/Scottish origin

I tend to like Slavic/Serbian names the most, though when I was younger, I’d only like [name_f]English[/name_f] names :joy: it’s funny how things change. I think because I’m more connected to my culture as I’m older, I like the names more as well. I also tend to like names that work well in Serbian and [name_f]English[/name_f], names starting with J, & N a lot, as well as M. I also like a mix of uncommon and well known names, and I tend to like softer names for boys as well as girls.
