I’m Catholic and having my first baby girl in [name_f]May[/name_f] after having 3 boys. I would like a name that had a special meaning and have narrowed it down to 2. I would like opinions on which everyone prefers as my husband has said I can make the final choice. I definitely want [name_f]Grace[/name_f] as a middle name. It’s a choice between [name_f]Ava[/name_f] or [name_f]Lily[/name_f] as the first name.

I picked [name_f]Ava[/name_f] as baby is due on feast day of bl [name_f]Eva[/name_f] of Liege although I prefer the pronounciation of [name_f]Ava[/name_f] not [name_f]Eva[/name_f]. It is also a saints name which is required for baptism. My husband likes [name_f]Ava[/name_f].

I picked [name_f]Lily[/name_f] as the lily is the birth flower for [name_f]May[/name_f] and baby is due 2 days after our 2nd wedding anniversary. The lily flower is given to your partner on your 2nd wedding anniversary as well apparently. The lily is also associated with the Virgin [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. We would have to pick a saints name to go with the middle name for the purpose of baptism if we pick lily but that additional name wouldn’t go on her official birth certificate. It would just be [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f].

Any options on which I should pick? [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] or [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] or [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], it’s a beautiful combination - simple but elegant. It also seems very symbolic given the links the the Virgin [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and your wedding anniversary. I also think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Ava[/name_f] (rather than [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]) sounds really pretty.

That’s what I was thinking. [name_f]May[/name_f] is the month of [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and also lily is the [name_f]May[/name_f] birth flower. Our anniversary is 24th and she is due 26th. If she arrives on 24th I truly will be giving my partner a lily on our 2nd anniversary :smiley:

I definitely prefer [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]; it’s very pretty, and I like the extra [name_u]Marian[/name_u] connection. As for an additional baptismal name, what about Azélie/Zélie, [name_f]Colette[/name_f], Thérèse, [name_f]Brigid[/name_f], [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], Céline, or [name_f]Avila[/name_f]?
