We just told our family [name]Saturday[/name] at DD’s 1st Birthday party about the new little one on the way in [name]December[/name]. After the shock wore off they wanted to know what we were having. We should have found out yesterday, but decided to stay Team [name]Green[/name] and consider this our [name]Christmas[/name] surprise. So I need one boy name and one girl name. Girls tend to be harder for us. DD is [name]Annabelle[/name] (a family name on both sides). There are really no other family names we would consider for the first name, but can use one for the middle later on once we decide a fn. So, what would you name [name]Annabelle[/name]'s little brother or sister? We like a mixture of classic and traditional and some modern names as well. We are in Southeast USA so a good southern name would be good too. Hit me with your best shot berries! Thanks for the help as I so greatly need it!
[name]Annabelle[/name] is a very sweet name. Here are some suggestions…
Girls…
[name]Hallie[/name]
[name]Adelyn[/name]
[name]Cordelia[/name]
[name]Clarice[/name]
[name]Darby[/name]
[name]Emelyn[/name]
[name]Marley[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name]
Boys…
[name]Spencer[/name]
[name]Holt[/name]
[name]Tucker[/name]
[name]Paxton[/name]

[name]Tanner[/name]
[name]Talbott[/name]
[name]Wyatt[/name]
[name]Foster[/name]
[name]Forrest[/name]
[name]Nolan[/name]
[name]Wilson[/name]
I love [name]Annabelle[/name]! It’s a name I would consider for a future girl! You are so lucky it’s a family name! Now onto name ideas, here’s what I got…
[name]Cecelia[/name] ([name]Celia[/name], Cece)
[name]Emily[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Elodie[/name]
[name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Gracie[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name]
[name]Isla[/name]
[name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name]
[name]Sophia[/name]
That’s all I got for now!
Bold = names I especially love with [name]Annabelle[/name]
Thanks [name]Savannah[/name]! I am glad it is a family name too. The great-grandmothers beam with pride when they tell others her name. It is making it hard to find another name that we like just as much with family connections. Thanks for your suggestions. We have thought about [name]Elizabeth[/name] because DH grandma was [name]Elsie[/name]. I like [name]Emily[/name] and think it is so sweet but I know so many and don’t know if I can get past it being a cousin’s name, but this is why I like [name]Emmeline[/name]. I don’t really care for [name]Cecilia[/name]. I just see [name]Cecil[/name]. [name]Isla[/name] is pretty but I don’t see it fitting in with our family. [name]Grace[/name] is actually DD’s mn so no [name]Gracie[/name]. I like [name]Eloise[/name] but wonder if the [name]El[/name] is too repetitive with [name]AnnabELLE[/name]? [name]Lydia[/name] is a name on my stepdad’s side of the family. I’m not sure how I feel about it as i knew one in high school and one who was 70 years old. Thanks for helping such a picky mom!
I love the name [name]Annabelle[/name] too - it’s lovely. I liked a previous poster’s suggestion of [name]Josephine[/name] and I love [name]Emmeline[/name] too – a few other names that would pair nicely with the pretty, feminine and classic style of [name]Annabelle[/name] are:
[name]Louisa[/name] (rather than [name]Eloise[/name], which avoids the doubling of the “el” sound)
[name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Lucille[/name] (or [name]Lucy[/name])
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Evelyn[/name]
[name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Madeline[/name]
[name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Flora[/name] or [name]Florence[/name]
[name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] (or other “[name]Rose[/name]” variations, such as [name]Rosalind[/name] or [name]Rosemary[/name] would also sound nice with [name]Annabelle[/name])
[name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Alice[/name]
[name]Norah[/name]
[name]Cynthia[/name]
[name]Theresa[/name]
[name]Patricia[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name]
[name]Georgina[/name] or [name]Georgia[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name]
[name]Iris[/name]
I hope these might help!
Incidentally I also think [name]Lydia[/name] is a beautiful choice - and I actually really like [name]Elsie[/name]! It’s a very sweet, pretty name.
[name]Marybeth[/name]-you have named several that are on my list. I love [name]Lucy[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Caroline[/name], [name]Katherine[/name] and [name]Georgia[/name]. I just worry about some of them being too plain next to [name]Annabelle[/name], but then again I don’t want something totally outlandish either. I just want that one name that wows me, but so far nothing.
My top contenders right now would be:
[name]Caroline[/name], [name]Natalie[/name], [name]Lucy[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Daphne[/name], [name]Emmeline[/name], [name]Georgia[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]Sara[/name] [name]Beth[/name], [name]Julia[/name], [name]Molly[/name], [name]Katherine[/name], [name]Delaney[/name], [name]Harper[/name], [name]Serena[/name] and for some reason I love [name]Quinn[/name], but think it is too out there with [name]Annabelle[/name] and it is so hard to find a middle name for. Instead of narrowing down my list keeps growing from day to day. We are halfway through and I would love to have a name in the next few weeks…wishful thinking! Thanks for your help and feedback though.
I love the idea of [name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Daphne[/name] and [name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name]. So pretty. [name]How[/name] about [name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Eliana[/name]? Too much anna/ana? They do have different sounds. Anyway, some other ideas:
[name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Cora[/name]
[name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Clara[/name]
[name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Rosemary[/name]
[name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Sadie[/name]
[name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Violet[/name]
[name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Lucinda[/name]
[name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Lila[/name]
[name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Tahlia[/name]
[name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Chloe[/name]
[name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Sage[/name]
[name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Leah[/name]
[name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Aria[/name]
[name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Alice[/name]
[name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name]
Thanks for all the suggestions. I’m still not sure which are my favorite. Today, I came across [name]Mallory[/name] and think I like it. [name]How[/name] would [name]Mallory[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] sound with big sis [name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Grace[/name]? I still like [name]Ava[/name] but hate the popularity. I like that it is shorter than [name]Annabelle[/name]. I think that is why I still like [name]Lucy[/name]. I still adore [name]Daphne[/name]. Is that classic enough with [name]Annabelle[/name]? DH’s favorite is still [name]Natalie[/name], but it is also popular.I
also want something soft sounding, maybe with a ‘M’ or S sound, but I don’t want [name]Madeline[/name]. MN will either be [name]Pearl[/name] or [name]Elizabeth[/name] so far,
unless I can find a name that would honor my mom [name]Jennifer[/name] [name]Diane[/name]? Any other suggestions? Thanks so much for helping me. I feel like a
lost cause with this pregnancy!
[name]Genevieve[/name] would be pretty and could honor your mom. Either as a first or middle name. I love it with nn’s [name]Evie[/name] or [name]Eve[/name]. Does [name]Annabelle[/name] have a nn?
[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] is SO pretty. it’s actually on our list since [name]Pearl[/name] is a family name.
I want to like [name]Mallory[/name] but it sounds too gender neutral to me next to the very pretty [name]Annabelle[/name]. [name]Natalie[/name] was on our list but the popularity got to me. I also don’t care for the sound of [name]Natalie[/name] with [name]Annabelle[/name]. I’m picky like that though. [name]Daphne[/name] has never sounded pretty to me but others seem to love it. I just hear “Daph”…
I do like the suggestion of [name]Emmeline[/name]. [name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] is pretty.
Sorry for any repeats.
[name]Coralie[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name]
[name]Tabitha[/name]
[name]Romilly[/name] (similar style to [name]Mallory[/name] but sounds a bit more feminine to me)
[name]Cosette[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Verity[/name]
[name]Cordelia[/name]
[name]Marigold[/name]
I don’t have any new suggestions, but I love [name]Lucinda[/name], [name]Cassandra[/name], [name]Genevieve[/name], [name]Rosalie[/name] and [name]Rosemary[/name] with [name]Annabelle[/name]!
My mom has said that she doesn’t like [name]Genevieve[/name] so I guess that would not really be honoring her. She said she doesn’t care if a baby is named after her or not, but she is very important to me and would do anything for her grandkids. I would love to pass her legacy on, but the only other name I can think of is [name]Jenna[/name] and I’m not crazy about that. I wish I could just pick out names I like, but it is important for me to have family connections in my kids names. [name]MIL[/name] first name that she doesn’t go by is [name]Diana[/name] so I could always use [name]Diana[/name] as a middle
name to honor both mom and mil maybe? I don’t know…
I saw earlier you had mentioned [name]Sara[/name] [name]Beth[/name] as a sister for [name]Annabelle[/name], which I totally love. My younger sister is [name]Sarah[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] and she is called [name]Sarah[/name] [name]Beth[/name]. [name]Sarah[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] might be a nice choice with [name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Grace[/name]. or Maybe [name]Sara[/name]-[name]Beth[/name] [name]Quinn[/name], or [name]Sara[/name]-[name]Beth[/name] Anything really. I just think [name]Sarah[/name]/[name]Sara[/name]-[name]Beth[/name] flows the best with your DD’s name.
The names from your list that I think would go well with [name]Annabelle[/name] are [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Georgia[/name], [name]Delaney[/name], [name]Harper[/name], and [name]Serena[/name]. I especially love [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Georgia[/name], and I think either of those would be a perfect choice that would be neither too trendy nor too outlandish next to [name]Annabelle[/name] (which is a lovely name, by the way). [name]Pearl[/name] would work as a middle name for either of those names.
entangler-I have been thinking more today about [name]Sarah[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] ([name]Sarah[/name] [name]Beth[/name]) so that is funny that you should post that about your
sister at this time Is your sis’ whole name [name]Sarah[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] or does she have another middle name? I also wonder how I should spell it-with an h or no h, but I do think it sounds good with [name]Annabelle[/name] and seems really balanced with the same double name feel. Thanks for posting. I may have to talk to hubby about moving that one up on our list a little higher.
baileyanne- I adored [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Georgia[/name] with DD’s pregnancy, but got bad reviews from family. I still like them though, I just don’t know if I feel them for this pregnancy or not. they are still on the list though. Thanks for your help guys. I really appreciate the help as DH thinks we have plenty of time and he doesn’t want to talk about names too much…argh men!
