What do you think of [name]Celine[/name]/[name]Selene[/name]? What spelling do you prefer? I like it more or some days, and then other days all I can think of is [name]Celine[/name] [name]Dion[/name] or saline, or prefer [name]Selena[/name]. But I think it’s a really pretty name overall, I would love to see it used more!
I don’t mind [name]Celine[/name]. I prefer it with a C than the [name]Selene[/name] spelling because I think it gets dangerously close to saline like you mentioned. I think its a nice way to get a unique sound that still seems familiar to people.
I prefer the [name]Selene[/name] spelling in looks, but I prefer the meaning of [name]Celine[/name] over [name]Selene[/name]. The latter refers to an ancient goddess, the former refers to heaven. However it’s spelled, I love it. It sounds dainty and twinkly and pretty. [name]Celine[/name] was on our list–our top choice for a while actually–but an unfortunate personal incident has knocked it right off our list. I still love it for someone else, though, and think it would be beautiful on a baby, child, teen, adult, all the way on up through life. It would make a wonderful choice.
[name]Celine[/name] has too much of a [name]Celine[/name] [name]Dion[/name] association for me. But I also don’t like the look of [name]Selene[/name]. I think [name]Selena[/name] is the best option out of the 3.
I prefer [name]Celine[/name] as a first name (though the [name]Celine[/name] [name]Dion[/name] association is pretty heavy), and [name]Selene[/name] as a middle name.
I love [name]Selene[/name], by appearance, meaning and pronunciation. [name]Goddess[/name] of the moon beats a name simply meaning heaven, in my opinion anyway.
It’s so pretty! So chic!
[name]Celine[/name] does make me think of [name]Celine[/name] [name]Dion[/name] though.
I like [name]Selene[/name]. This is the spelling of [name]Selene[/name] from Underworld.
[name]Selena[/name] is nice too, but will always make me think of the tragic Latin singer and now [name]Selena[/name] Gomez. Since it is so closely tied to those singers, it would be like naming your daughter [name]Madonna[/name], in my opinion.
My middle name is [name]Celina[/name], so I prefer that variation. I really love all of them though. It is an old family name and I have tossed around using it as a first or a middle for my next if it is a girl. I can easily get past the [name]Celine[/name] [name]Dion[/name] and [name]Selena[/name] Gomez associations.
[name]Love[/name] [name]Selene[/name]. I went to school with a fair number of Celines so that’s what I associate the name with.
I like the [name]Selene[/name] spelling better, it has this exotic feel more than [name]Celine[/name] imho.
I love [name]Celine[/name]. We were considering it, but it doesn’t fit the style of our other kids and we thought perhaps the connection to [name]Celine[/name] [name]Dion[/name] would be too strong, not that that is a bad thing at all… It is a beautiful name!
I go by [name]Celine[/name], and I am always getting compliments on it! In fact, just yesterday, this one lady was like, I love that name, its just so classy…
I prefer how this looks and the meaning, over to [name]Selene[/name], even if it wasn’t my name.
About the possible [name]Celine[/name] [name]Dion[/name] references. To be honest, I do get a lot of, “like [name]Celine[/name] [name]Dion[/name]?!” But mostly from people aged 18 and older. So I don’t think someone born today would have much of an issue.
Go for it! It’s such a pretty name! and underused…
