So I already have a [name]Mackenzie[/name], [name]Phoebe[/name] and im thinking now if I have another boy, [name]CHANDLER[/name] [name]JOSEPH[/name]. [name]Do[/name] not mind the reference to friends!
I like the fact that there wouldn’t be any more in his class! Never met one anyway. I do like [name]Logan[/name] and [name]Leo[/name]… but there would be more than one of those in class as there quite popular! What do you think?
I’d say go for it, if it wasn’t for the fact you already have a [name]Phoebe[/name]. [name]One[/name] Friends name is fine, two is asking for ‘Oh, so you’re a big Friends fan then’ comments.
[name]Chandler[/name] is very cool. The name and the Friends character (my favourite!), and then there’s [name]Raymond[/name] [name]Chandler[/name], author and paper daddy of the fantastic [name]Philip[/name] [name]Marlowe[/name]. I’d love to meet a [name]Chandler[/name].
It happens that I am a big friends fan though lol
I see no problem using [name]Chandler[/name]. Not many of his contemporaries will even know about the television show [name]Chandler[/name]. The name goes well with your other childrens names.
I don’t think it’s a problem with [name]Phoebe[/name]. And Friends is one of the best tv shows ever, it’s a good association!
It is quite “Friends”, but I liked Friends and both characters were very funny. It’s not a bad association.
I prefer [name]Channing[/name]
I would have a problem with using [name]Chandler[/name], but if you feel great about it, then go for it. To each their own
(and I agree with nat108, I prefer [name]Channing[/name] too)
The association is strong, but I have always loved the name [name]Chandler[/name] (mostly because of [name]Matthew[/name] [name]Perry[/name]'s character). I think you should use it, but if it bothers you at all, put it in the middle name spot.
I adore Friends, but I think this combo is too much. Especially if you already have a [name]Phoebe[/name] and use [name]Joseph[/name] as the middle name. Since [name]Chandler[/name] and [name]Phoebe[/name] aren’t terribly common names and are quickly associated with “Friends”…a [name]Phoebe[/name] and a [name]Joseph[/name] or a [name]Chandler[/name] and a [name]Rachel[/name] might work ok, but everyone (even the child’s contemporaries, I think. My young teenage cousins and others I know definitely are well aware of the Friends’ characters, they still show reruns daily on at least 3 channels, it was an extremely long-running show with a huge fan base) would comment on a [name]Phoebe[/name] and [name]Chandler[/name] (and your other children might feel left out). [name]IMO[/name], it’d be like naming your children [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Ethel[/name] or [name]Greg[/name], [name]Marcia[/name], and [name]Jan[/name].
I love [name]Chandler[/name]! I knew an adorable little boy named [name]Chandler[/name] in college, and he was so cute! I always think of him when I think of [name]Chandler[/name], I think it’s charming, and I have a huge thing for surname/occupation names, and [name]Chandler[/name] is no exception. I honestly didn’t think of the Friends connection between [name]Phoebe[/name] and [name]Chandler[/name] until someone else said something, but then again, I never really watched the show, I didn’t watch a ton of TV when it was around. I think [name]Mackenzie[/name] and [name]Chandler[/name] are adorable for brothers! And [name]Phoebe[/name] is lovely with them, as well. I wouldn’t have an issue with [name]Phoebe[/name] and [name]Chandler[/name], personally, and I think the association will slowly fade as time goes by. I doubt his peers will make the connection, anyway!
I know more female Chandlers than males. There was one of each in my high school. I recently had a friend choose this name for her daughter. I actually like it more for a girl. I just thought I would mention that it’s making it’s way to the girl’s side, like [name]Logan[/name].
A name is a name, so I don’t see why my other children would feel left out? They’d all each have there own identity - and are each getting unique names! Thanks for all the comments. Definetly putting [name]Chandler[/name] on my list
It’s a cool name! I like it.
thank you
Yes the Friends association is strong, but like previously mentioned, it’s a fleeting thought. The names [name]Mackenzie[/name], [name]Phoebe[/name] and [name]Chandler[/name] make a nice sibset. I really like the sound of brothers [name]Chandler[/name] and [name]Mackenzie[/name].
I think [name]Phoebe[/name] and [name]Chandler[/name] is too much, especially when [name]Chandler[/name]'s middle name is [name]Joseph[/name] ([name]Joey[/name]'s full name). You will definitely get comments about being a big fan of Friends. However, I think all those names are nice independently.
I think [name]Chandler[/name] is a great name but I’m not keen on the fact that you will have two children with that names of Friends characters. I honestly think [name]Joseph[/name] [name]Chandler[/name] would be a lot better with [name]Mackenzie[/name] and [name]Phoebe[/name].
I say go for it! Its a nice flow of sibset names. I have always loved the name [name]Chandler[/name]. To this day it is still on my short list but I dont know how usable it is for me since I have a [name]Chase[/name]. (Huge friends fan too)
