We’re expecting a girl, our first child. We decided on [name_u]Chandler[/name_u] as a first name for her but we need help picking a middle name. We have a couple of names we like with [name_u]Chandler[/name_u] that we would like to hear your opinions on and ideas that you may have that could also work in the middle.
Names we like so far:
[name_u]Chandler[/name_u] [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_u]Chandler[/name_u] [name_u]Vivian[/name_u]
[name_u]Chandler[/name_u] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]
[name_u]Chandler[/name_u] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_u]Chandler[/name_u] [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f]
[name_u]Chandler[/name_u] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
I’d use something very classic with [name_u]Chandler[/name_u]. 20 years later the Friends craze still has not died down completely, especially with talk about a reunion appearing in the media every few months, and many teenagers are starting to stream the series on the internet, so “[name_u]Chandler[/name_u] [name_m]Bing[/name_m]” is still very present as the only association with the name, not just with adults; I do find it a difficult name to wear because of that, especially as a girl, so I’d chose a middle name she could fall back on, maybe even with a few nickname possibilities if it’s a long name.
I like the suggestion of [name_u]Chandler[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. Your middle name ideas all flow very well but to me, seem off next to [name_u]Chandler[/name_u], they just seem too sweet, too feminine (not that [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] isn’t feminine, however, it’s very classic and somehow fits every name, maybe because I’m used to it next to all kinds of names), though [name_u]Chandler[/name_u] [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] somehow works for me.
I know you didn’t ask, but all your middle names are beautiful. Much prettier than than the masculine [name_u]Chandler[/name_u]. Why not use it as a middle name? It transforms from uber trendy/masculine first name to a spunky middle name.
My name is actually [name_u]Chandler[/name_u] ([name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is my middle name) and I’ve always wanted to name a child after me. My grandmother named my mom the same first name as her with a different middle name and I want to follow what she did as I love the idea of a mother giving her child her own name. I know the name [name_u]Chandler[/name_u] for a girl isn’t everyone’s style but I really love my name and I am very excited that I get the opportunity to pass it down.
Since my middle name is [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], I do not want it to be my daughter’s middle name too since then both our first and middle names would be exactly the same. I want to give her something different. [name_m]Feel[/name_m] free to suggest middle names as my husband and I would love to hear some ideas.
I think that’s very sweet that you want to pass down your own name. [name_m]Will[/name_m] you both go by [name_u]Chandler[/name_u]?
I think doing something like [name_u]Chandler[/name_u] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] would be nice because then you have a nickname of [name_f]Cece[/name_f].
From your list I also like [name_u]Chandler[/name_u] [name_f]Olivia[/name_f].
