I’m thinking about changing my own name legally but I’m not quite sure what I’d like. I want it to go with my personality (fun and crazy but can still be serious), something I won’t regret, something that has a cute nickname, but yet something that still sounds professional.

Right now my first name is [name]Amber[/name] [name]Lee[/name], and my middle name is [name]Rose[/name]. I am going to keep [name]Lee[/name] and [name]Rose[/name] but I’m going to combine them as a double middle name. They are both family names, but [name]Amber[/name] isn’t and it’s so common in my generation. I’ve met at least 10 [name]Ambers[/name] throughout middle school and high school. Also, most of them were the kind of girls who had a bad reputation so when they hear my name they just think of those other girls.

I like vintage names and I also girly names. I’d love to hear any names of any style also though. My last name is Bloom right now, but I’m engaged to someone named Goodchild, so I’d like a name that sounds good with both Bloom and Goodchild. I’d stray away from flower names with the surname Bloom, and I don’t think you want anything too vintage with the surname Goodchild, considering it has a quirky, vintage flair of its own. Such great surnames to work with!

It conveys to me a woman with good morals, a strong sense of self, and a strong devotion to family and nature. However, [name]Miriam[/name] feels fresh and unique and unexpected, thus giving it a bit of a fun feel! You get the cute [name]Miri[/name] nickname, too! Only drawback? It is a bit Biblical, being the name of [name]Moses[/name]’ sister…

The name sounds pretty when you say it, delicate and soft, yet it isn’t too frilly as to seem unprofessional. If you need a nickname, you could go by [name]Willie[/name] - I knew a girl back in middle school whose name was actually [name]Willie[/name], just [name]Willie[/name].

SUGGESTION - [name]Willa[/name] [name]Rosamund[/name] [name]Lee[/name] (Goodchild)

[name]Cecily[/name] would be perfect with Bloom or Goodchild, and I love its literary connection (The Importance of Being [name]Earnest[/name], [name]Oscar[/name] Wilde) and the fact that it is vintage and unexpected, yet fun and fresh! Ceci (or CC) could be sweet nicknames for you, too. Plus, you already get [name]Lee[/name] in there with the -ly ending, so you can experiment more with middle names! Drawback? The meaning, “blind,” isn’t too hot…

I actually thought of [name]Rosalie[/name] after I posted this! I really love it too. I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Alice[/name], but I’m kind of turned off by the whole Twilight thing if you put them together.

I like the nn [name]Miri[/name], but not hot about [name]Miriam[/name]. Any other names that can have that nn?

[name]Willa[/name] reminds me of [name]Willow[/name], which reminds me of [name]Buffy[/name] the Vampire Slayer. [name]Don[/name]'t ask why I make that association because I don’t know why I automatically think of that either lol.

It kind of has the [name]Lee[/name] sound (if you’re open to incorporating this into the first name), but you hear it even more in [name]Coralie[/name], which is also very pretty. Okay, if you like [name]Miri[/name] as a nickname, or even [name]Mira[/name], why not use [name]Mirabelle[/name]? It sounds fresh and fun, quirky and cool, yet it has a sophisticated, vintage, feminine flavor. I also think that [name]Miranda[/name] could work, and I adore [name]Miranda[/name] for its [name]Shakespeare[/name] connection and the fact that it sounds so fresh and feminine! I also think that [name]Estella[/name] [name]Rosalie[/name] might be your style, too, as it is feminine and fun, not too common but not unheard of, and it also ties into great literary history - Dickens’ Great Expectations ([name]Estella[/name] Havisham)! I love [name]Estella[/name], and you get [name]Stella[/name], [name]Estee[/name], or [name]Essa[/name] as nicknames!

[name]Penelope[/name] “[name]Poppy[/name]” might work, too, as it is quirky and whimsical, yet entirely professional. There aren’t too many [name]Penelope[/name]'s out there, either, so it is an uncommon and original choice! [name]Penelope[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is gorgeous, but you might have to let go of [name]Lee[/name] with this name… ([name]Calliope[/name] “[name]Callie[/name]” or “[name]Calla[/name]” is another in this same boat.)

Alright so my problem now is picking between [name]Rosalie[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] or [name]Rosalie[/name] [name]Jane[/name]! lol. I’m leaning towards [name]Rosalie[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name], though, because it’s my favorite out of the two. But after I get married, do you think that [name]Rosalie[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] Goodchild is too much of a mouthful? I didn’t think about that, but I think that’s going to be my name regardless.

Back to your names…I personally love longer names, so to me, [name]Rosalie[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] Goodchild isn’t too much at all (I think it’s beautiful), and I think it looks great written down, too!
