Our beautiful girl was born 11 weeks ago and none of the names on our short list seemed to fit her so we took home a blank birth certificate and worked on finding a good name. We could not agree on any and I was getting a ton of pressure to “just pick one” so we settled on the name [name_f]Hallie[/name_f] (Pronounced [name_m]Hal[/name_m]-[name_u]Lee[/name_u]) but held off on filling out the birth certificate. Over the next few weeks we realized that 99% of people who saw her name pronounced it [name_f]Hayley[/name_f] or [name_f]Holly[/name_f] and 99% of people who heard her name would hear “[name_u]Allie[/name_u]”. Needless to say… we are over it and decided to “change” her name since it still hasn’t been officially recorded anyway. Yes, it’s wierd, I know, but we feel it’s the best choice and we’re doing it so please don’t suggest keeping the name [name_f]Hallie[/name_f].
Sooooo… these are the choices… please help us choose as I’ve been playing the name game for a while now and have totally over thought every name at this point! We like more casual, spunky, unisex type names which I understand are not everyone’s cup of tea.

I like [name_f]Paige[/name_f] as well, but my middle name choice would be [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. Have you considered [name_u]Pace[/name_u]/[name_f]Pacey[/name_f]? It means peace and it sort of fits your style I think. Plus it’s unisex and cute! My next favorite choice would be [name_u]Tatum[/name_u] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], but I would go with [name_u]Tatum[/name_u] on the birth certificate and then call her [name_u]Tate[/name_u]. After checking your boys names again, I noticed most names have a double up of initial with one of the boys -perhaps that’s not an issue for you-I am not suggesting it should be either.
[name_u]Romy[/name_u] short for [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] or [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] would be another name I would look at.

I’m guessing you don’t want to use [name_f]Hayley[/name_f], [name_f]Holly[/name_f], [name_u]Allie[/name_u] or anything else that sounds similar to [name_f]Hallie[/name_f]? Though [name_f]Hayley[/name_f] and [name_u]Allie[/name_u] have many spelling variations which might annoy you if people pronouncing it wrong bothers you. If you spell [name_f]Charli[/name_f], [name_u]Kasey[/name_u] and [name_u]Tayte[/name_u] like that, I have a feeling you’d run into a lot of spelling issues- [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], [name_u]Casey[/name_u] and [name_u]Tate[/name_u] are much more expected.
My favourite would be [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u], nn [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]. She may love the spunky unisex nn and will keep using it when she’s older, but if she wants a more feminine or formal name she has that option too. Both [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] have one established pronunciation and spelling, and is more common than any other similar-sounding names, so you’re unlikely to run into the issues you have with [name_f]Hallie[/name_f]. (I find people tend to confuse unusual names for a more familiar one, much more than the other way around.)
