Changing my name and need some help please!

I need a first name and 2 or 3 middle names. I have to choose my last name with my husband so don’t worry about that part right now.

I am the kind of person (female) that you would find twirling around in a dress in a forest, marvelling at the smells, the sunlight through the leaves and ferns, the sounds of the birds, reverently touching flower petals and always hoping the butterflies will land on my arms. I am sweet, fun have been described as cute my whole life; I am gentle, compassionate and immensely peace loving. I am friendly, easygoing and loyal. I am also a little bit mischievous, ambitious, strong-willed, passionate, sexy, resilient, determined, fierce/fiery and have been described as mysterious. I can be a little flamboyant at times as well and have been described as unpredictable in a good way :). I still surprise my husband all the time and we’ve been together almost 12 years.

I really want my first name to be something decidedly feminine and capture my gentler traits but also have that hint of strength and fieriness. The middle names don’t have to capture that balance and can be unusual like Waterfall.

I don’t like classical or popular names or anything so out there that it would make me a target for cruel comments ie. [name_f]Whisper[/name_f]. [name_f]Whisper[/name_f] would get made fun of her whole life. I tried out the name [name_f]Snow[/name_f] for a while and while it was mostly positive, I will not live my life getting comments such as “Ugh I HATE the snow!” because I currently live somewhere snowy. Also it wasn’t the right fit anyways.

I love nature but I don’t think I want a first name from it directly. Meanings are great though. Other than that I’m open.

After reading your post, the first name that came to mind was [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] or [name_f]Silvia[/name_f]. Or [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]? Decidedly feminine, yet it also has a lovely strength to it, and a connection to the natural world as it means “forest”.

Similarly to dechen, my very first thought was of [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] - sweet and gentle; a happy nature-loving faerie dancing about in the woods, carefree; slightly unusual/not overly common, yet familiar; has a nature-based meaning in ‘forest’, yet is not at all obvious to most ‘non-name-nerd’ types… Honestly, [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] seems to fit your description absolutely perfectly.

My other thought, perhaps for one of the middles, was [name_f]Gaia[/name_f] (which just so happens to be my own favourite name). [name_f]Gaia[/name_f] is gentle, has a lovely grounding meaning in “earth” but also pretty strong and badass, in both her zesty sound as well as her great mythology (Greek Mythology: [name_f]Gaia[/name_f] is the personification, the ancestral mother, of all life, typically referred to as ‘Mother [name_f]Earth[/name_f]’).

I also thought of [name_f]Fern[/name_f], [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]/[name_f]Blithe[/name_f], & [name_f]Reverie[/name_f].

I think [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] is really cool too as a middle name and I was considering [name_u]Dove[/name_u] for another middle name just yesterday but since it’s a bird it kind of freaks me out. I don’t like animal names or meanings

I’m thinking I might indeed want an unusual or word name but I’m afraid. I’ve been beaten around a lot in life for my eccentricities that aren’t all that unusual in actuality. I don’t think at least. I really don’t have any examples! I have tried things that are all over the place trying to find something that I love enough and feels so me I have to use it as a first name. [name_f]Snow[/name_f] was the closest I came and during the [name_u]Winter[/name_u] it quickly lost it’s lustre. Thanks to my other post about flower names, I’m choosing [name_f]Verbena[/name_f] as one of my middle names!! Maybe I will do this from the inside out and a first name will come last haha!

I really like your list @lavenderwitch. I think we might be getting closer with something like that, but I’m truly not sure yet. I really do want something unique. I think Iridessa is really cool but all I can see is the faerie from the Tinkerbell movies. Does that help?

jonquils - that list feels really heavy to me. I like things more in the realm of the names on the list above from lavenderwitch because they feel a lot lighter, more open and free.

It’s very helpful to see those combinations luneth! I feel my creativity starting to spark and gears thinking about moving lol

I am synesthetic so it’s hard for me to love anything that starts with an A, B, L, G, M, U, P, I, K, J, V, Z, X, W, O, Y and I really don’t like ch, ph, th, sh, or names with m, u, o, z, x, y because of their colours and how they feel. I wonder if in the right combination of letters, it wouldn’t be so bad, that is why I didn’t list the other letters I don’t like or start off my post explaining my synesthetic senses, but mostly I just really don’t like these letters. I know that doesn’t leave very much =/ I would love a first name that started with E. The middle names aren’t as hard because they won’t be my whole identity like my first name is.
