Hello!
[name_f][/name_f]I am writing a gothic/dark academia novel. The main character is a teenage girl who goes by [name_m]Ever[/name_m] [name_m]Moore[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]Ever[/name_m] comes from her first name (I actually didn’t even realize it could be a nickname for that name until I looked up the potential nicknames and now I see it looking at the name) and [name_m]Moore[/name_m] is her middle name. I think it goes well with the dark gloomy atmosphere of the story.
[name_f][/name_f]What do you think?
[name_f][/name_f]Apart from other people calling her by that nickname, the story is written in 3rd person narrative so whenever she would be reffered to by her name it would be something like: “Ever [name_m]Moore[/name_m] said…, [name_m]Ever[/name_m] [name_m]Moore[/name_m] reached for the book…” etc.
[name_f][/name_f]I would also like to know what that feels like for you as a reader as I know from personal experience that double names sometimes sound unnatural when reading a story and it’s used when describing an action. It can be frustrating and negatively impact a reader’s experience.
[name_f][/name_f]I think it’s obvious but yes, it is supposed to be a play on the word evermore.
[name_f][/name_f]Thanks for all your opinions!
