Need some help finalizing name choices for big sister [name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]'s sibling, due in less than a month! For a boy, we are fairly settled on [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], but if we have a girl, we like both [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. Obviously, [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is extremely popular, so there’s that. (We already have one super-popular name in the family with [name_f]Ella[/name_f], but my husband won out and I do still love it despite it’s popularity).
I love [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] as well but don’t love the inevitable nicknames/shortened forms.
We also don’t have a set middle name, but have come up with a couple of options. I am finding it hard to come up with middle names, as we have no particular family names we want to use. (We also briefly considered [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] as a middle name, but baby’s last time will start with Z which would result in an unfortunate acronym).
I like how [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] sounds. Although between [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] I like [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] more. I would suggest [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] - or [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u], or [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
Another vote for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f]! Personally, I vastly prefer [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] to [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] as the plethora of accepted/well known nicknames ([name_u]Charlie[/name_u], [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_f]Lottie[/name_f], [name_f]Carly[/name_f], etc.) allows for a lot of flexibility. I find [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] to be very one note in comparison.
I also like evelinrose’s suggestion of [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Viola[/name_f].
I adore [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the nicknames [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] and [name_f]Totty[/name_f]. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] is beautiful and sweet. You might like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Willa[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] or [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] alongside [name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]. It’s hard for me to choose, but I think I actually prefer [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. It’s beautiful and grounded and charming, and I think [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] is very sophisticated but still lively (kind of reminds me of [name_m]Little[/name_m] Women for some reason).
I absolutely love both. I feel as though [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] fits just a tad better with her sibling. [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] is darling. [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] flows even more (but could be seen as rather filler).
In Juliets favor- [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] is lovely. [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] also, but maybe just too romantic.
Re the nicknames-[name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_f]Etta[/name_f]? or [name_m]Jett[/name_m] / [name_f]Jetta[/name_f] -sorry I love these and was wondering if you were considering names beyond [name_u]Julie[/name_u] or [name_u]Jules[/name_u]?
I love both [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], but I do prefer the former. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] is beautiful, but [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] fits better with the Biblical middles you have for your daughter and your potential son’s names.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] as some of your posts were convincing me that [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] is the right choice as a middle, I realized it really doesn’t work with the hyphenated last name which has 3 A’s and just sounds too similar to me. [name_m]How[/name_m] did I not think of this before?
Oh and thanks for the other nickname suggestions, @it_is_morning. We love the whole name so I might not use one, but I know sometimes people don’t always get to choose how others shorten the name, so yes, thinking that [name_u]Jules[/name_u] and [name_u]Julie[/name_u] might be inevitable!
Where I live, [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is super-popular and heard everywhere, so I vote [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] as it’s slightly more unexpected. I agree though that a nickname of [name_u]Jules[/name_u] or [name_u]Julie[/name_u] is probably inevitable!
