Which one of these four is your favorite and why? If you picture any specific imagery associated with these names, please do tell!
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], mainly because I love the [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] association, and because the sound is so soft but strong at the same time. I also love the nicknames of [name_f]Julie[/name_f], [name_f]Ettie[/name_f] and [name_m]Jet[/name_m]!
Flowy dresses and dungarees, flowers in her hair, running wild in the garden.
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] - red, dark hair, writes incessantly, forthright, passionate
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - gentle, calming, kind, always with a book
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] - sweet perfume, writing notes to her friends, giving out sweets
Tough choice, but I think my vote goes to [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]!
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is elegant, literary and pretty, but not too fussy, very familiar but not oversaturated (where I am, at the moment). I also love nicknames Jet/Jett/Jette, [name_f]Lettie[/name_f], [name_m]Jules[/name_m], and [name_f]Ettie[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] would be my next pick - a name with understated elegance, solid classic vibes, pretty but strong - and the [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] connection.
I’m tied between [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]. [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is lots of bright warm colors like hot pink and orange, roller skates and strawberry ice cream and for some reason debate team just popped into my head. [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] is, of course, red with hair ribbons, adventures in the woods, reading curled up on the porch swing.
Definitely [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] !! It feels a bit more surprising and more timeless than the other 3 to me (obviously they’re pretty much all classics, but some do feel very trendy at the same time). I also love the sweet nicknames [name_m]Jules[/name_m] and [name_f]Lettie[/name_f]! It’s romantic and elegant, it makes me think of someone with dark hair who likes to read and dance.
I like all four a lot, but [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is my favourite, too. [name_f]Love[/name_f] the sound of it!
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite is [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. I don’t associate it with anything, so it feels like the bearer can shape the name.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] have character associations (not bad, but makes the names seem already pointed in a direction).
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], while I recognize it also has a strong character association, seems more available to mold as desired.
They’re all four lovely names, though.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is technically my favorite, I love the soft shh sound, the double letter, the classic vintage feel, and the nickname potential. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] was in my top 5 girl names for my first born, who is a boy. The downside is she is so popular! #3 if i’m not mistaken, and that kept me from falling in love with the name when I know I would have otherwise. [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is a gorgeous Shakespearean name that sounds very romantic and feminine, I slightly prefer [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] based on sound and fewer syllables (I prefer 2 syllable names to 3) - but bc of the popularity factor I might be more keen to use [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] over [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f].
I’m not personally a fan of [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] or [name_f]Violet[/name_f] but I see its appeal for others.
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f].
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] with [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] right behind
I like all the names you listed but [name_f]Violet[/name_f] has been my long time favourite
They are all stunning
But my favourite is [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is a gorgeous such a beautiful, elegant name that feels summery and timeless. [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is a lovely Shakespearean choice with beautiful meaning ‘youthful and sky father’ which are just gorgeous. I love the romance behind this name for me she evokes imagery of summer ball gowns, lemon groves, gorgeous European architecture and stunning scenery of lake como. For me [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is stunning and I love the nicknames surrounding the name I think [name_m]Jules[/name_m] and [name_f]Letty[/name_f] are so sweet.
All four are beautiful! I’m a fan of them all. I think I’d rank them as follows:
- [name_f]Violet[/name_f] - purple is my favorite color, I love how dainty she feels, she makes me think of flowers and ballerinas and cuddling in a big overstuffed chair with mama or grandpa and a really good book.
- [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - I love how timeless and regal she feels, and storybook… I love that she reminds me of [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] and [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_m]Austen[/name_m] and tea parties and cuddling and climbing trees and dancing in wildflower meadows. She’s a muted pink for me, a little pinker than a mauve.
- [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] - I love the Shakespearean feel to her, she’s dainty (but not quite as dainty as Violet), and storybook. I feel like she’s got lots of personality and is both sassy and sweet. Very romantic. [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is a deep teal for me.
- [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] - my least favorite of them all but I still like her a lot! She also feels dainty but also fiery and spunky. [name_f]Lettie[/name_f] is sweet. She’s a fiery burgundy to me. I’m not a huge fan of red so that could be why she’s my least favorite… I also don’t love that she’s tied to a well known celebrity.
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] I just like its sound the best
So far, [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] has the most votes. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is the second most popular, then [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. Last is [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
Thank you to everyone’s who commented so far!
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
Though popular, to me it is the most classic and tailored of the names. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] sounds strong, literary, intelligent and royal.
[name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] sound too dainty and feminine for my taste.
What’s crazy is that 3/4 of these were names that I came across when I was young and I have loved ever since
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite would have to be [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] though. It’s just so beautiful, soft, sweet. It has such a classical and romantic feel to it I think because of [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m]. It gives me very a very blue - purple with a dash of green for the colour palette. Like periwinkle, lavender, soft colours and flowers and just an airy feel
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] has a similar feel to me as [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] but leans more purple to dark. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] from the incredibles also comes to mind but she was one of my favourite characters as a kid so not a bad association. Her hair colour is what I think of when I say dark, like that tinge of blue to it
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] my first thought is gone with the wind. Pale skin, jet black hair, deep romantic reds but also emerald green comes to mind because of her curtain dress. I also think of sunset/sunrise colours with this name (reds and oranges.) [name_f]Lettie[/name_f] is such a cute nickname for [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] because I feel like it’s such a strong and mature name that sometimes feels almost too powerful to imagine on a baby or a kid but it’s still a great name
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is probably the only name I don’t consider a classic even though I know it is solely because all my associations growing up with this name were kids I grew up with. So for me the name just feels very playful, outdoorsy, sunshine and happiness sort of vibes. It’s a very positive name, like someone you can trust, down to earth, good spirited. And since I’ve been saying about colours I’d say it’s a broader range of colours for me. I get like a pastel yellow and then nature greens and blues, but I also get lilac purple too
I love them all, but my favorites are [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]!
Violets are a symbol of modesty, which I love, and the flower is so sweet and pretty!
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] reminds me of love and elegance (probably bc of [name_m]Romeo[/name_m] and Juliet) I prefer the spelling [name_f]Juliette[/name_f], but [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is lovely also!
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] would be my choice despite her popularity. I’ve always loved her. She is so literary, with the link to the Brontes and in Charlotte’s [name_m]Web[/name_m]. It was also the name of a [name_f]Queen[/name_f] who married [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] III. She was devoted to him, supporting him through his so-called ‘madness’ which medical experts now believe was down to a rare infection.
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is nice, but I knew a [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] who hated her name because she always got teased about [name_m]Romeo[/name_m]! Something you might like to think about. Of course, you can never tell if this would be an issue for your little one or not. She may love that association!
I’ve never really liked [name_f]Violet[/name_f] or [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]. But that’s just me.
For me, the overall winner would be [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. I’m a [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] fan and always fancied using [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f]! Well, they do blend well.
I like all of them, but I think my favorite is [name_f]Violet[/name_f].
The imagery I associate with each one:
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] -
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] - 🪻
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] -
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] -
I love both [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], but today my vote would go to [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]!
to me, [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] is spunky, sassy, but still quite sophisticated. she’s the rebel with a heart of gold, the chaotic good, the one who would stand up for the people she loves even if it’s unpopular or will get her in trouble.
