Hello berries, I want to hear your opinions on [name]Chiara[/name] and [name]Camilla[/name]. [name]Both[/name] are my favorites, but if I get to have two daughters, I’m not going to name them [name]Chiara[/name] and [name]Camilla[/name] because they will both have C initial. Please share your thoughts about [name]Chiara[/name] and [name]Camilla[/name]. Which one do you prefer more with surname Swan? Which ones goes better with [name]Isabella[/name]? Thanks!
Hmm. This is a little tough. [name]Both[/name] are quite pretty. I’d say go with [name]Camilla[/name], with some clarity. [name]Chiara[/name] seems like it’s going to cause spelling and prn difficulties pretty often (prn like [name]Ki[/name] ah rah right? - I think people will get it once it’s explained but will often guess [name]Kiara[/name] for spelling and prn it with the ch sound sometimes). I also think with how mainstream [name]Isabella[/name] and [name]Emmett[/name] are, [name]Chiara[/name] feels kind of the odd one out, more exotic. [name]Camilla[/name] is rapidly on the rise so she fits better. Also, with your last name being an English word, the less clearly [name]Romance[/name]-language [name]Camilla[/name] is a more natural fit than [name]Chiara[/name].
My only reservation is that both girls’ names end in --la, but at least it’s -illa and -ella, and it’s not like the names sound much like each other otherwise. I think it’s fine, just that if you do ever have a 3rd girl, be prepared to either stick with the pattern, or be OK with breaking it.
I assume you’ve considered and rejected [name]Clara[/name], but if not, I think it would be a nice midway point between the two to consider.
All best!
I prefer [name]Chiara[/name]. It’s just prettier to me, though I think [name]Camilla[/name] is nice as well. I think [name]Chiara[/name] goes really well with [name]Isabella[/name] and [name]Camilla[/name] goes better with [name]Emmett[/name].
On a side note- [name]Isabella[/name] Swan? Are you really considering that?
I like [name]Chiara[/name], especially with [name]Isabella[/name].
Jesba posted very good advice [name]IMO[/name]! I had no idea how to pronounce [name]Chiara[/name] and would have gone with the hard “ch.”
I’m not going to have kids for like five years so I’m not sure but yes I’m considering it. I never thought I would marry a man with surname Swan. [name]Isabella[/name] has been my long favorite since I was about 12 and I can’t get rid of it.
[name]Both[/name] are nice, but I slightly prefer [name]Chiara[/name]. I prefer [name]Camille[/name] to [name]Camilla[/name]. So [name]Chiara[/name] wins in my book
I prefer [name]Chiara[/name] with [name]Isabella[/name].
I prefer [name]Camilla[/name] with Swan.
Definitely [name]Camilla[/name]! It is much more classic in feel. [name]Chiara[/name] seems less substantial and feels trendy…even though its not.
[name]Camilla[/name]. It’s classic and [name]Chiara[/name], while lovely, will always be misprounounced, which would annoy me.
I definitely prefer [name]Camilla[/name]. I know so many little [name]Kiara[/name]-[name]Chiara[/name]-[name]Keira[/name]-[name]Kyra[/name]'s and (I’m sorry but) to me it comes across as a lower class name? It may just be because of the personal experiences I’ve had. I just think [name]Camilla[/name] is infinitely more lovely and delicate.
on a side note - As I do agree that [name]Isabella[/name] is a truly lovely name. If I met a child (even 5 years from now) named [name]Isabella[/name] Swan, I would automatically assume that either her parents were obsessed with Twilight, or have been living under a rock. I’m sorry that comes across as harsh.
Ooh we have similar taste! I’m due in [name]January[/name] and have floated both of these to hubby. No dice. I think like [name]Camilla[/name] a bit better, esp for the use of nn [name]Millie[/name]…
