Hi berries!
I’ve been watching a show with a character named Chiquis. I absolutely love this name! It’s a nickname but it’s also based off a term of endearment in Spanish culture (chiquita, chiquitita, etc.) Another favorite of ours is Tito, which is kind of like “junior” in Spanish culture, so I think it fits perfectly. If we were to use it, it’d probably be as a nn for Valentina, middle name Tereza. I’m open to other first name suggestions though! We also like Elena and Evelina, and another potential middle is Caterina.
Thoughts?
Other names we like: Luna Patrizia, Isadora Grazia “Isa”, Eduardo Antonio “Tito”, and Santiago José “Santi”
TIA!

[name_f]My[/name_f] brother in law in Mexico has g/b twins with the nicknames Chiquis and [name_u]Chan[/name_u]. The girl’s real name is [name_f]Yulissa[/name_f] and the boy is [name_m]Alfredo[/name_m]. They said [name_u]Chan[/name_u] is short for Chillón (cry baby). The twins are 3 now. I feel like those type of nicknames can be used on anyone, no matter what their real names are.
I [name_u]Love[/name_u] so many of your names though, especially [name_f]Valentina[/name_f], [name_f]Isadora[/name_f], [name_f]Evelina[/name_f], [name_f]Elena[/name_f] and [name_m]Santiago[/name_m].

That was my thought! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband is super picky so I figured I’d let him choose a name he loves and we’ll call her Chiquis anyway! Assuming we have that many kids, but I expect we’ll have as many as we can! and thank you
It makes a cute nickname! How is it pronounced?

I love everything about this! Chiquis would make for cute nickname! It was the name of our sweet, long-time family dog who recently passed away
but I’ve also known many Latinos who go by it as well, even one guy friend. & What a coincidence that Tito is also my cousins nickname lol (His is short for Arturo)
Overall I’m in love with your list! Santiago, Valentina, Isadora, Caterina, Eduardo, Luna, Evelina & Elena are all gorgeous

It’s pronounced kinda like chickies, but more with a Spanish accent, as the “qui” makes a “key” sound. So it’s like sort of like “chee-kees,” but not “cheekys” or “chee-ques.” I tried to look up a video to show you but all of the pronunciations are in [name_f]English[/name_f] and sound weird.
The person who inspired the name for me is Chiquis Rivera, daughter of Mexican superstar Janney Rivera. She’s also a singer. If you want, you can look her up. I think that would be the best way to hear how it’s supposed to be pronounced. It’s quite spunky and cute in Spanish!

I’m sorry for your loss. Pets are such beautiful creatures, it’s a shame they’re only in our lives for a short time. Sending light and love your way
And thank you so much! I’m so glad you like so many of our choices, especially all the first names! We had a very hard time picking but I genuinely love them all. It’s also so funny to me that you know both a [name_m]Tito[/name_m] and Chiquis personally. I love that I’m finding more berries who know Spanish names. It makes me feel more confident in our choices knowing [name_m]Tito[/name_m] and Chiquis are well known among my children’s future peers and community!
