Chloe like names

I still love the name [name]Chloe[/name].
I have tried not to love it due to it’s mega star status, but I just do.
Any suggestions for "[name]Chloe[/name]’ like names?

My best [name]Chloe[/name] like name is [name]Phoebe[/name]. Same # of syllables, and ends with ‘ee’.

But I think perhaps it’s the hard “K” sound I like. [name]Just[/name] can’t love [name]Cleo[/name]- probably because we know a cat called [name]Cleo[/name].

Any ideas?
I prefer 1-2 syllable names, 3 if it isn’t too frilly. (Eg I do like [name]Annabel[/name])

Hmmmm, this is a challenge. I feel like [name]Phoebe[/name] is sort of on its own in the world, but you’re right, [name]Chloe[/name] is a bit similar.

Maybe…
[name]Esme[/name]
[name]Sophie[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name]

I have considered [name]Sophie[/name]… but then thought “Isn’t that just as popular as [name]Chloe[/name] really?”

[name]Sylvie[/name]- I don’t mind- but it’s a bit soft sounding
[name]Daphne[/name]- hmm maybe a tad frilly, but will keep repeating it to myself and see if it grows on me
[name]Esme[/name]- NMS

[name]Zoe[/name], though [name]Zoe[/name] is pretty popular as well some others…

[name]Lena[/name]
[name]Elise[/name]
[name]Keira[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Cora[/name]
[name]Clea[/name]
[name]Carina[/name]
[name]Coralie[/name]
[name]Calliope[/name]
[name]Caralee[/name]
[name]Kyrie[/name]

I understand how you feel about [name]Chloe[/name]. It’s absolutely gorgeous, and I’d use it in a heartbeat were it not for the popularity. I had a friend named [name]Chloe[/name] in kindergarden, and even then I realised what a cool name it was…so much so that when I went to camp that following summer, I convinced everyone I went by [name]Chloe[/name].

There’s nothing that compares, and I doubt you’ll find something you love as much…Here are some suggestions, anyway.

[name]How[/name] about [name]Claudie[/name]? French variation of [name]Claudia[/name]. Not as soft and sweet as [name]Sylvie[/name].

[name]Clotilde[/name] is lovely but maybe too square for anyone in the universe but me.

[name]Florie[/name] / [name]Flory[/name]

Instead of [name]Cleo[/name], there is [name]Clio[/name], which is pronounced the same, but different origin.

[name]Clover[/name]

[name]Courtney[/name]. Obviously, this is an 80s throwback, but there is something delightfully crisp about it. I imagine it got popular in its heyday for the same reason [name]Chloe[/name] has gotten popular now. It’s declined enough in popularity that I think it could actually sound fresh again.

[name]Coline[/name]. A French exchange student that attended my high school was named this, and I always thought it was harder and cooler sounding than [name]Colleen[/name].

[name]Corly[/name]. Is this a name or did I just make it up?

[name]Cora[/name] / [name]Coral[/name]

Thanks [name]Alexa[/name] (actually I like the name [name]Alexa[/name]!!!)
[name]Zoe[/name], though [name]Zoe[/name] is pretty popular as well some others…You’re right about that!! LOL

[name]Lena[/name] I like this- [name]Lana[/name] is one I have be thinking about nn [name]Lani[/name]
[name]Elise[/name] Nice name- mmm will think on that one. Not too keen on [name]Ellie[/name] as a nn though.
[name]Keira[/name] [name]Kiara[/name] is on my current list- [name]Keira[/name] is pretty
[name]Lucy[/name] I like it- but it’s fairly popular too
[name]Ruby[/name] Like [name]Ruby[/name]- but worried it will date
[name]Ivy[/name] Too [name]Beyonce[/name] for me
[name]Cora[/name] NMS too old lady
[name]Clea[/name] I used to fancy the name [name]Clytie[/name]- similar feel
[name]Carina[/name] Now that’s worth another look- I like that- could it be with a K?
[name]Coralie[/name] Maybe
[name]Calliope[/name] Like in theory, but wouldn’t use- unless as a MN
[name]Caralee[/name] Good thought- bit blended for my taste
[name]Kyrie[/name] If it was said as [name]Ki[/name]- ree rather than [name]Ky[/name]- ree

[name]Colette[/name], Loie, [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Calla[/name], [name]Lola[/name], [name]Louella[/name], [name]Eloise[/name], [name]Noa[/name], [name]Clare[/name], [name]Olive[/name], Salomé, [name]Noemie[/name], [name]Po[/name]ésie, [name]Anouk[/name], [name]Adele[/name], [name]Willa[/name], [name]Edie[/name], [name]Nell[/name], [name]Marlowe[/name], Kirrily

Thanks Cosmonaut
You’re hearing my love of [name]Chloe[/name] and yes it is hard to replace it- I have loved it for a long time- easily 20 years.

[name]How[/name] was it being a [name]Chloe[/name] for a summer? [name]Just[/name] curious!
[name]How[/name] about [name]Claudie[/name]? French variation of [name]Claudia[/name]. Not as soft and sweet as [name]Sylvie[/name]. DD suggested [name]Claudia[/name]- but the meaning puts me off it.

[name]Clotilde[/name] is lovely but maybe too square for anyone in the universe but me. Yeah, too square- but thanks.

[name]Florie[/name] / [name]Flory[/name] [name]Worth[/name] a consideration- thanks.

Instead of [name]Cleo[/name], there is [name]Clio[/name], which is pronounced the same, but different origin. I think the cat thing still gets me as the cat is still alive.

[name]Clover[/name] [name]One[/name] name I have considered is [name]Chloe[/name] [name]Violet[/name] nn [name]Clover[/name] if she end up with another [name]Chloe[/name] in her class

DD suggested this one too- I like it but it gets a bad wrap here on Nameberry as dated.

[name]Coline[/name]. A French exchange student that attended my high school was named this, and I always thought it was harder and cooler sounding than [name]Colleen[/name]. MNS… bit too much ‘een’ sound for me

[name]Corly[/name]. Is this a name or did I just make it up? LOL Funny! Sounds cool. I do tend to like something people know.

[name]Cora[/name] / [name]Coral[/name] [name]Coralie[/name] might be worth thinking over- perhaps the nn [name]Corrie[/name]?

Appreciate your ideas- thanks for taking the time to reply.

[name]Emilia[/name]

[name]Clare[/name] and [name]Claire[/name]? They’re the ones that jump out at me right away.

[name]Xanthe[/name] is [name]Phoebe[/name]-like to me but has no hard C/K sound.

[name]Kezia[/name]/[name]Ketzia[/name] is appealing but really obscure. [name]Cassia[/name] might work?

[name]Coralie[/name] has the -ee and hard C but is too long.

Thanks stripedsocks
[name]Clare[/name] and [name]Claire[/name]? They’re the ones that jump out at me right away. That is a name I have debated often- I like it in theory. Not sure about liking it enough to ever use it [name]IRL[/name]- other than as a MN.

[name]Xanthe[/name] is [name]Phoebe[/name]-like to me but has no hard C/K sound. I know a little [name]Xanthe[/name]- it’s a great name- but the majority of people’s reaction to it was that it’s a ‘weird’ name. Damn those whitebread namers…! LOL

[name]Kezia[/name]/[name]Ketzia[/name] is appealing but really obscure. [name]Cassia[/name] might work? [name]Will[/name] look that up- quirky!

[name]Coralie[/name] has the -ee and hard C but is too long. I am thinking on that idea- thanks.

I love [name]Chloe[/name], too. I also adore the nickname [name]Coco[/name], but that’s not a name that you would put on a birth certificate. [name]Cora[/name] was the next name I thought of.

[name]Keira[/name]
[name]Cali[/name]/[name]Kali[/name] (CAW-lee)
[name]Callie[/name] ([name]CAL[/name]-ee)
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Pippa[/name]
[name]Esme[/name]
[name]Rhea[/name]
[name]Ria[/name]
[name]Gaia[/name] ([name]Guy[/name]-uh or [name]Gee[/name]-uh)
[name]Cassie[/name]
[name]Mia[/name] (but just as popular)
[name]Elle[/name]/[name]Ellie[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Kira[/name]
[name]Thea[/name]
[name]Evie[/name]
[name]Ally[/name]/[name]Ali[/name]
[name]Mila[/name]
[name]Annabel[/name]
[name]Leah[/name]/[name]Lia[/name]
[name]Kaia[/name]
Kana/Cana
[name]Nora[/name]
[name]Zola[/name]
[name]Zibby[/name]
[name]Elsie[/name]
[name]Suki[/name]
[name]Cami[/name]/[name]Kami[/name]
[name]Zilla[/name]

I also love [name]Chloe[/name] so much so I know how you feel! Here are some others that I consider [name]Chloe[/name] like

[name]Calli[/name]
[name]Siri[/name]
[name]Flossie[/name]
[name]Alia[/name]
[name]Cami[/name]
[name]Brie[/name]
[name]Francie[/name]
[name]Marlee[/name]
Efie
[name]Jovie[/name]
[name]Coralie[/name]
[name]Nomi[/name]
[name]Zoey[/name]
[name]Tomi[/name]
[name]Remi[/name]
[name]Orie[/name]

[name]Hi[/name] Aurra, [name]Coco[/name] is such a cute nn!!

[name]Keira[/name]- this is lovely- I also like [name]Kiara[/name]… not [name]Chloe[/name] though… :frowning: LOL
[name]Cali[/name]/[name]Kali[/name] (CAW-lee) Hmmm maybe
[name]Elle[/name]/[name]Ellie[/name] I don’t mind [name]Elle[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] Like- but it’s fairly popular here
[name]Kira[/name] it sounds so close to [name]Keira[/name] to me- I worry she’d constantly be correcting people
[name]Thea[/name]- [name]Worth[/name] a rethink- it’s a name that’s made a few of my lists
[name]Evie[/name]- [name]MIL[/name]'s name
[name]Annabel[/name] I like it… I could even use it yet- but it’s the “[name]Belle[/name]” part I am worried about as being too close to [name]Isabelle[/name]/a
[name]Elsie[/name] [name]Elise[/name] I like more, or [name]Eloise[/name]… nn [name]Lou[/name] [name]Lou[/name]

Thanks for the other names, they’re just NMS.

[name]Emilia[/name]

Dear jamee, why does it have to be so danged popular? Maybe I just need to not care and use it?
[name]Calli[/name]
[name]Siri[/name]
[name]Flossie[/name]
[name]Alia[/name]- I have debated this name a few times
[name]Cami[/name]
[name]Brie[/name]
[name]Francie[/name]
[name]Marlee[/name]
Efie
[name]Jovie[/name]
[name]Coralie[/name]
[name]Nomi[/name]- have been considering [name]Naomi[/name]
[name]Zoey[/name]
[name]Tomi[/name]
[name]Remi[/name]
[name]Orie[/name]

I think what I like is that it ends in ‘ee’ but isn’t nick name like. I like [name]Tessa[/name]- nn [name]Tessie[/name] but wouldn’t use [name]Tessie[/name] as a name. Mind you I know alot here wouldn’t even use [name]Tessa[/name] as a name. LOL

[name]Emilia[/name]

I thought of [name]Phoebe[/name] at first, but also [name]Daphne[/name]. They end in the same sound. I don’t think it sounds overly frilly to me. It gives me a lovely image of fresh tulips in the springtime. I also like the suggestion of [name]Sylvie[/name] and [name]Claudie[/name]. I think [name]Claudie[/name] sounds a tad bit lighter than [name]Sylvie[/name], only because of that ‘V’
I’d also suggest [name]Maudie[/name]. [name]Chloe[/name]'s meaning is “young green shoot” other “green names” that are less popular could be [name]Clover[/name] or [name]Lotus[/name]. You could also go for a more floral pick like [name]Lily[/name], [name]Violet[/name], [name]Arcadia[/name] or something more daring like [name]Tulip[/name] or [name]Primrose[/name].
If you want something from the mythological standpoint I would go with [name]Aurora[/name] or [name]Juno[/name]. If you like the romantic literature aspect, [name]Juliet[/name] or [name]Josephine[/name].
If your only concern about [name]Chloe[/name] is the popularity, I would set popularity aside and go with the name you love.
