All, I am two weeks away from my due date and I can’t decide on a name. I originally loved the names [name]Olivia[/name], [name]Emma[/name], and [name]Ava[/name], but decided that they are becoming too popular. In effort to be a tad bit different, I found these two-[name]Chloe[/name] and [name]Eleanor[/name]. With [name]Chloe[/name], we would name her [name]Chloe[/name] [name]Kennedy[/name] or [name]Chloe[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]. With [name]Eleanor[/name], we would name her [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Grace[/name], but call her [name]Elle[/name] or [name]Ella[/name] or [name]Norah[/name], for short. I can’t decide. I get mixed reviews from so many people so I decided to come to the name experts! If you don’t like either, you can tell me too. Please, tell all! I am getting down to the wire and need help! I can’t make a decision!
I prefer [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Grace[/name].
I have never seen [name]Eleanor[/name] spelled with two l’s before. Interesting.
I think the more traditional spelling would be [name]Eleanor[/name] nn [name]Elle[/name] or [name]Ella[/name].
Thank you…that was a spelling error. [name]Baby[/name] brain!
While they are both classics and I like them both, [name]Chloe[/name] has a little more of a cute-sy feel. I also like [name]Eleanor[/name] (much prefer this spelling) [name]Grace[/name] better than your [name]Chloe[/name] combinations.
Some other names you might like:

[name]Vivian[/name]
I vastly prefer [name]Eleanor[/name] (with one L). It’s classic and gorgeous, and I love the nn [name]Ellie[/name]. [name]Chloe[/name] is very pretty, it just seems quite trendy and popular.
I like both, but if you’re looking for “a tad bit different” I would go with [name]Eleanor[/name]. I see [name]Chloe[/name] as being in the same wildly popular vein as [name]Olivia[/name], [name]Emma[/name], and [name]Ava[/name]. [name]Both[/name] are absolutely love names, though.
Thank you all, this is helpful!
I know a little [name]Chloe[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], I love that combo. I do think [name]Chloe[/name] is popular though. [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is very elegant and lovely. [name]Ellie[/name] is also popular, as a full name and nickname, but she would have a full name to fall back on and to differentiate between other ellies. Despite popularity [name]Chloe[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] would be my favorite!
I really like both - I think [name]Chloe[/name] is becoming slightly more popular, but [name]Eleanor[/name] is also a very established name. I guess go for [name]Eleanor[/name] if you want to avoid a super-popular name.
Thanks for the feedback everyone. Sounds like [name]Eleanor[/name] is the favorite. I just don’t want her to hate me for giving her “an old lady name”. I guess she’ll hate me in her teenage years no matter what, right?!
I love them both but there is something very special about [name]Chloe[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] that [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Grace[/name] just does not have for me. You will have a beautifully named daughter either way but my vote definitely goes to [name]Chloe[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
I love [name]Eleanor[/name], but think [name]Ellie[/name] is very popular right now. Probably as popular as [name]Ava[/name] or [name]Olivia[/name]. I know lots of little Ellies and Ellas. So, I would go with [name]Eleanor[/name] and call her [name]Eleanor[/name] or [name]Norah[/name]. [name]Chloe[/name] is cute, but I have a harder time seeing it on an adult.
My guess is the [name]Berry[/name] choice will be [name]Eleanor[/name].
Personally I prefer [name]Chloe[/name]. While [name]Chloe[/name] is undeniably popular it has a happy, light and bouncy feel where a [name]Eleanor[/name] sounds all serious and nerdy to me. An alternative to [name]Eleanor[/name] that I do like is [name]Elena[/name].
[name]Emilia[/name]
Yeah, the popularity of [name]Chloe[/name] might be annoying. I named my cat Choe years back and have regrets sometimes because it’s so popular. She really IS a [name]Chloe[/name] though, and it’s such a happy-sounding name. I think of the “Chlo” part as being sort of serious and ladylike, like downcast eyes, and the “we!” sound being the part of the name where the girl flashes her eyes and smiles. So I guess I think of it as a fabulously flirty name, not unlike [name]Gigi[/name] and [name]Lola[/name], but a bit subtler. And [name]Elizabeth[/name] is beautiful and queenly and rhythmically pretty perfect.
So [name]Chloe[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] might be more popular, but I think it’s the sparklier choice.
[name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Grace[/name] has great flow, and it’s very gentle. I feel like [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Grace[/name] would be quiet, thoughtful, and noble. All great qualities of course. I just tend to prefer girls’ names that are more mischievous/fun, so I vote for [name]Chloe[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name].
I vastly prefer [name]Chloe[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], to be quite honest. I’m pretty young myself, and I have a sister in middle school… [name]Eleanor[/name] is very “old” in my honest opinion. It brings [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Roosevelt[/name] to mind. While she was an interesting lady, a girl in high school would not like that association.
[name]Ellie[/name] and [name]Ella[/name] are very popular right now. Moreso than [name]Chloe[/name], I’d wager. [name]Elle[/name] is more interesting. I like [name]Elle[/name] quite a bit, actually.
Still–[name]Chloe[/name] has a peaceful-yet-playful feel. It’s anchored by the classic [name]Elizabeth[/name].
I prefer [name]Chloe[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]. It’s cute and classy.
If you’re talking about popularity, I think both are popular. [name]Chloe[/name] comes first, but [name]Eleanor[/name]'s rising. [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is pretty too, but sorry, unless it has special meaning for you, [name]Grace[/name] sounds like a filler here.
I like [name]Eleanor[/name], and especially the nickname [name]Ellie[/name]/[name]Ella[/name], but there are a ton of Ellies and Ellas, since those are desirable nicknames now. Neither [name]Chloe[/name] or [name]Eleanor[/name] is especially unique (though [name]Eleanor[/name] isn’t in the top 100).
Personally, I prefer [name]Eleanora[/name] (pronounced like [name]Eleanor[/name] but with an a at the end.) It seems more modern and not old lady, if you are worried about that, and isn’t in the top 1000 last time I checked.
Or, use one of the other [name]Eleanor[/name] variations:
[name]Eleonora[/name]
[name]Lenore[/name]
[name]Lenora[/name]
[name]Elinor[/name]
[name]Leora[/name]
[name]Liora[/name]
[name]Eliora[/name]
[name]IMO[/name]…[name]Chloe[/name] [name]Kennedy[/name] is awesome! Any little girl will feel special with this name. I hope you choose it!
If you’re worried about popularity, then [name]Eleanor[/name] would probably be your best bet, since [name]Chloe[/name] is almost as popular as your original choices. However, I really do prefer [name]Chloe[/name]. If my favorite girls’ name wasn’t [name]Zoe[/name], then [name]Chloe[/name] would definitely be on my list! [name]Chloe[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] is gorgeous and sounds fresher to me than [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Grace[/name].
I like [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Grace[/name].
What about [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Chloe[/name]?
