We are expecting a girl in [name_f]July[/name_f]. After making a long list and lots of hemming and hawing my husband suggested [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] (with the mn [name_f]Lark[/name_f]), which was not on the list. I like it and we’ve actually been calling her that for a while now but something about it is giving me pause. I don’t know if it’s that it’s so popular or is it the dreaded Kardashian connection or what. I actually don’t know a Choe personally and my husband and best friend who are both teachers have only had 2 or 3 each in 10 years but I do hear little girls called [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] quite a bit on the playground with my 3.5yr old son. I’m just wondering what your first association with the name [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] is, if you have one. [name_f]TIA[/name_f]!
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] is so adorable! I wouldn’t care about how popular the name is and just go with it! It’s a beautiful name, and I only have good associatons with it.
I agree with previous poster, [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] is so adorable. I say go for it. It’s lovely.
[name_u]LOVE[/name_u]! I want to get a pet bunny and name her [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f].
[name_u]Love[/name_u] it! If I was having a girl, it was a strong contender! It is popular, I think, but I love it anyway.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] it! [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] has roots- it’s not the trendy Kardashian name some people think it is.
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] is divine. Please use it!
I love [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]! I would be hesitant to use it because it is so mega popular now, but everyone has their own feelings on popularity. If it’s not too much of a hold up for you I’d say definitely use it, it’s such a beautiful name!
First thought: [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] O’[name_m]Brian[/name_m], from the TV show 24, which I absolutely adore.
Second thought: The lovely meaning.
Third thought: There were 9,596 girls named [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and 9,595 girls named [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] in 2012.
I wouldn’t let the popularity scare me off, and [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] is really an adorable name. It gives me spring vibes and spring is my favorite season.
It’s very cutesy. It would be strange if she turned out to be a tomboy.
It’s too common for my liking.
beautiful sounding name, but it makes me think of many people, and i think a name should make you only think of your little one
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] is a little bit too cutesy/ditsy for me too. It doesn’t seem like the first name of a respected professional, or a name that would suit a ‘tomboy’ child.
Less cutesy suggestions that have a similar sound (or ‘ee’ ending anyways):
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Cordy[/name_f] / [name_f]Cordie[/name_f])
[name_u]Cory[/name_u] or [name_m]Kory[/name_m]
[name_u]Charlie[/name_u] or anything that can have a nn [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]
[name_u]Hadley[/name_u]
[name_u]Kennedy[/name_u]
[name_u]Leigh[/name_u]
[name_u]Jamie[/name_u]
… Today I learned: It’s hard to find ‘ee’ ending names that don’t sound ‘cutesy’.
I don’t find [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] too cutesy. It’s not my style, but I like the name and think it’s sweet on a little girl and works just as well on an adult. I didn’t think of the Kardashian. The name has a long history of use and is established enough to not have that one person be the “go-to” reference.
I guarantee that if you go with it, you will only associate it with your lil’ one. It’s popular, but not overly so and I don’t meet many Chloes (far more Zoeys) and when I do there isn’t any particular age that its more common on. So that’s a plus!
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] is lovely.
I like [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] - it makes me think of [name_m]Daphnis[/name_m] and [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] (particularly [name_m]Ravel[/name_m]'s ballet). I’d consider using it for a little girl if I hadn’t already used the name for my little calico cat.
I don’t think it’s cutesy at all - I think it sounds beautiful and sophisticated.
I love everything about it apart from how popular it is. But it has always been a more ‘popular’ name. If you like it though go for it, it is really feminine and has a lovely sound
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] also seems cutesy and trendy to me. I’ve never been a fan. But I can tell from the popularity of the name that I’m in the minority. If you love it, use it! There’s nothing wrong with it…it’s just not my taste.
It’s super sweet and a pretty girl name! [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f]! [name_m]Just[/name_m] gorgeous!!
I dot think [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] is a cutesy name. I adore it very much so. A lot of people are saying its a popular name but I think it depends on the area. I have yet to meet a [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]. I don’t like the name [name_f]Lark[/name_f]. But if you set in stone with [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f], go for it!
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] is absolutely gorgeous. I didn’t think of the Kardashians at all, [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] to me is fresh and green, and blossoms - a ‘spring’ name.
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] is perfect.
[name_f]My[/name_f] first association with the name [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] was when my gddaughter was born, so for me it is a gorgeous name given to a beautiful girl and I find it very elegant too.
