What are your thoughts on [name_f]Liara[/name_f], pronounced lee-AH-ra?
[name_f][/name_f]
If you had to choose your favorite and least favorite, which one would you choose and why? Why do you like/dislike them? Comments on all names very much appreciated!
I like Liara. It seems very feminine, sensual and also light-hearted.
Fave of your list would be:
Lara (and Ella a close second) - Lara (long first A so not how some in US say Tara) is so beautiful
and a little remote/ out of reach. Ella is elegant and also breezy and girly.
Least fave:
Elliara / Eliara - feels like it’s trying to do too much/ overly cre8tive. I also really don’t like Ellie as a name / nickname so Elliana second least fave but seems more established.
Liara and Elowyn in the middle - like them both. Elowyn has an enchanted, yet grounded, Celtic feel, while Liara has more Italian imagery.
Edit - FWIW I’d be more likely to pick Elowen if naming a child, than Ella (too popular) or Liara…
Least fave: Elliana/Elliara, I just don’t think they need the double L and it looks a little cluttered/overdone.

Most fave: [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f], but I generally am drawn to the more Celtic style so that is not a surprise. She’s princessy but in a melodic, mysterious, unfrilly way which I find appealing.

[name_m]The[/name_m] others:
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] is…okay? She’s sweet and pretty, but kind of uninteresting.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Lara[/name_f] (as above I’d say it with a long -a, like car) is elegant, tailored, girly but grownup.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Liara[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliara[/name_f] are both pretty, I am leaning towards the less fussy, Italianate-sounding [name_f]Liara[/name_f] except on the page my eye is quite drawn to the ‘liar’ element. [name_f]Eliara[/name_f] de-emphasises that, but has a little-girl-in-tutu-and-tiara quality. I guess I can see it on an adult too though? As I’m writing this I feel like I can picture a sweet, elegant young woman called [name_f]Eliara[/name_f]. It could grow on me!
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]In[/name_f] order of preference I’d go… [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Lara[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Eliara[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Liara[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]Elliara [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Elliana[/name_f]
[name_f]Lara[/name_f] is my favourite as she has always been high up on my list.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Liara[/name_f] is nice too, but I prefer the simpler [name_f]Lara[/name_f].
[name_f][/name_f]
I like [name_f]Ella[/name_f] but she is too popular.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Elowyn[/name_f], which I prefer spelt [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] is lovely but there are too many Ellies around, though you could go with [name_m]Wyn[/name_m] or [name_f]Wynnie[/name_f] if you wanted to.
[name_f][/name_f]
Overall, though my number one choice would be [name_f]Lara[/name_f]. [name_m]The[/name_m] film Dr [name_m]Zhivago[/name_m] and ‘Lara’s Song’ adds to her glamour.
[name_f]Liara[/name_f] is pretty. It reminds me a lot of [name_f]Liora[/name_f] though, I think I prefer that.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite [name_f][/name_f]- [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f]. Should be spelled [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] IMO, but it’s a great name. Very soft and elegant.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] least favorite [name_f][/name_f]- [name_f]Lara[/name_f]. It feels very try-hard.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] is fine, it’s a pretty name so I can see the appeal but I’d prefer something longer. [name_f]Elliana[/name_f] and Elliara don’t need the double l; they and [name_f]Eliara[/name_f] just strike me as a bit too frilly and trendy currently.
[name_f]Lara[/name_f] is my favorite, followed by [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f]. [name_f]Lara[/name_f] [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] is gorgeous and I would use it for one of my own!
I love [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Ella[/name_f] (but very common) [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Elliana[/name_f] (my fav) [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] (not used enough) [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Lara[/name_f] (short and sweet)
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Liara[/name_f] & [name_f]Eliara[/name_f] just not my style.
