Never read or seen it so no obvious connection for me. [name_f]My[/name_f] first thought was Yelich!
and then the religion. I like the name [name_u]Christian[/name_u], it’s very handsome.
No it makes me think of [name_u]Christian[/name_u] the faith
Not really. It’s a pretty well established name outside of the franchise
it’s not the first thing I think, but it does cross my mind yeah.
Just like [name_m]Edward[/name_m] took a little bit of a hit after [name_u]Twilight[/name_u] I think [name_u]Christian[/name_u] will recover and it ultimately won’t matter much.
No, it doesn’t make me think of 50 Shades, it’s a fairly common and certainly widely familiar name and has been for a long time. I like it, it feels both solid and sensitive, like [name_u]Julian[/name_u] or [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u].
I’d probably feel a bit weird about using it myself, as an atheist, but I wouldn’t necessarily assume a [name_u]Christian[/name_u] (name) was a [name_u]Christian[/name_u] (faith), if that makes sense?
It’s had a lot of history before [name_u]Christian[/name_u] [name_u]Gray[/name_u], so I’d say use it if you like it. I prefer [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] as it seems to make it more masculine.
Yes; I knew a Muslim named Muslim.
It doesn’t for me, but then again, I’ve never seen nor read the movie/book and don’t care to.
I don’t think I would’ve thought of it if you hadn’t pointed it out, and I think there are other much stronger associations that it wouldn’t be a problem. I know a [name_u]Christian[/name_u] (the only comments he gets are about the religion) and I think it’s definitely useable.
Never would have crossed my mind until you pointed it out. [name_m]Don[/name_m]’t think it would be an issue unless you called him [name_u]Christian[/name_u] [name_u]Gray[/name_u] or [name_u]Christian[/name_u] [name_u]Grayson[/name_u]/he had a sister called [name_f]Ana[/name_f] or [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f].
I think [name_u]Christian[/name_u] is well established and generic enough (not in a bad way) to be above the 50 shades of grey association. I always think of the religion when I hear the name.
Ummm I’ve never heard of the show so it has no association to me. But I do think of the religion so that’s the only downside to me.
