[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone!
I love the Clair-uh pronunciation, but unfortunately where I live, people say it as Klaar-uh.
That pronunciation gets quite caught in my throat and feels really dull when I say it, so I prefer the Clair-uh pronunciation.
If I ever used the name, would it be best to spell it [name_f]Claira[/name_f], or [name_f]Clara[/name_f] but correcting people who use the other pronunciation?
I prefer the [name_f]Clara[/name_f] spelling, but not sure whether it’s the most practical.
Honestly if you love the [name_f]Clara[/name_f] spelling, I’d say use it! People may pronounce it incorrectly the first time, but they should be able to change it after the first correction.
I think the [name_f]Clara[/name_f] spelling is timeless, and love the Claire-uh pronunciation!! [name_f]Beautiful[/name_f] name
Thank you! That’s definitely what I was thinking. I love the Clair-uh pronunciation but not the [name_f]Claira[/name_f] spelling. Realising that I can use the Clair-uh pronunciation has definitely renewed my love for [name_f]Clara[/name_f]!
I think [name_f]Claira[/name_f] is pretty, and I think it has more appeal as the “I” makes the name stand out whilst also being clear in how it is pronounced.
Would it bother you more to correct pronunciation or spelling? I think [name_f]Clara[/name_f] would be my preference here as both ways of saying it are legit, it’s just one is more common in your area but it’s like Loo-ee vs [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] for [name_m]Louis[/name_m], both are valid and people should get it once corrected.
