Claire & Chloe sibset

I have a daughter named [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], and am due for another girl in [name_u]January[/name_u]. As much as I love names, the only one so far I can think of (that my husband also really likes) is [name_f]Chloe[/name_f].

Our last name is very [name_u]French[/name_u], 2 syllables beginning with ‘D’ and any name sounds lovely with it (I think) so matching surname not a concern.

  1. what do you think of sisters names [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]?

  2. I like simple, elegant and sophisticated names. Any suggestions for a middle name for [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]? I’m leaning heavily toward [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_u]Anne[/name_u] (husband shot down [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_u]Marie[/name_u] already)

Thanks!

  1. I like [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]! I think they’re similar in style and I like how they sound distinct while still sharing the same first sound.

  2. I like [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_u]Anne[/name_u]! You might also like [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u], or [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f].

I think [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] sound lovely for sisters.

Obviously (I know this wasn’t part of your questions, but) if you do have any more children, then you would have to consider whether you’d continue the C trend or veer away.

If you did veer away from names starting with C, I would suggest using another sound for any future children that still tie in.

L names, -e ending sounds and soft R or K sounding names would all work well I think, such as:

[name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_u]Marie[/name_u] (maybe not), [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Mildred[/name_f], [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], [name_u]Louise[/name_u], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_f]Fleur[/name_f], [name_u]Henry[/name_u], [name_u]Ivy[/name_u], Jack/Jacques (where the C/K sound is at the end, still ties in) [name_f]Naomi[/name_f], [name_f]Amelie[/name_f], [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Emily[/name_f], [name_u]William[/name_u], etc.

What I might suggest is clicking on any of those names (as well as [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] Anne) and looking at the 20 suggested similar names on Nameberry for inspiration. I always find a couple of gems that way that tie in nicely.

As for middle names for [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], I would suggest:

[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_u]Anne[/name_u] (I agree with your husband, this one is my favourite out of [name_u]Marie[/name_u], [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and Anne)
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_u]Louise[/name_u]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Diane[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Deirdre[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] Maud/Maude
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Bridget[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Bethany[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]

I’m sure there are loads more that have escaped my mind!

But my favourites (that I think fit best with your guys’ style) are:

[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] & [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_u]Anne[/name_u]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] & [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_u]Louise[/name_u]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] & [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] & [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] & [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f]

Congratulations and good luck!

Thanks! I also love your [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] or [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] suggestions :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Thanks! And at one point t I actually did consider [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. You made some great suggestions. I highly doubt I’ll have a third, but I agree with you on that point, too. For me, another C name would be too…Kardashian? but I’d probably have a “c” or “k” sound mixed in as you noted.

I think these are fine!

To match [name_f]Claire[/name_f] Kate’s more elegant-but-still-simple first name with the more fun one-syllable middle, try:

[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] & [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Jayne[/name_f] (the best from this list IMO)
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] & [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_u]Reece[/name_u]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] & [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] & [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_u]Fern[/name_u]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] & [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_u]Sage[/name_u]

Other names I think sound great that are not one syllable but are not overly complex:

[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Annette[/name_f] (this sounds a bit better than [name_u]Anne[/name_u] IMO)
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Renee[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_u]Laurel[/name_u]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] (personal favorite)

Hopefully these help!

Ugh I know it’s not for everyone but I LOVE [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] and originally thought it would be her first name :two_hearts:

[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] is lovely - bright, sweet and lively! [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] are quite matchy, but not unusable - their end sounds are very different.

[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_u]Anne[/name_u] is nice!

Some other ideas:

[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Renee[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]

I would get [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] confused often if I were not their mom. I would probably still confuse them even if I were their mom!

I think [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] work great as siblings! They feel like similar styles without being overly similar.

[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_u]Louise[/name_u]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_u]Allison[/name_u]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Brielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Lana[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_u]Ivy[/name_u]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f]

I do like Cl@ire and [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] together. As for a middle name for Chloe….I can imagine

Cl@ire [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and…
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Christine[/name_f], [name_f]Christina[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Colette[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Corinne[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f], [name_f]Annalise[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Annabel[/name_f], [name_f]Anabelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f], [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]

ALSO, I really like Cl@ire and [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] together. I like the repetition of the letters LAI in the middle of the name and that they are both of [name_u]French[/name_u] origin. I could imagine the middle name….

Cl@ire [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and……
[name_f]Elaine[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f], [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Elaine[/name_f] [name_f]Annabel[/name_f], [name_f]Anabelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Elaine[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
[name_f]Elaine[/name_f] [name_f]Arianne[/name_f], [name_f]Arianna[/name_f]
[name_f]Elaine[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Elaine[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Elaine[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]

Good luck with your decision. You have a lot of ideas to choose from.

Thanks for the suggestions! I may go back to considering [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] (but husband likely set on Chloe). I agree with you I like the “lai” in both [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] which to me makes them match in a less obvious way
