[name_u]Clare[/name_u] seems spunkier and fresh, though I don’t mind [name_f]Claire[/name_f].

[name_u]Clare[/name_u], definitely. [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is lovely too, but I find [name_u]Clare[/name_u] more fresh.

Either [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_u]Clare[/name_u]. They are pretty much tied for me.

I automatically spell it [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. I like both [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_u]Clare[/name_u]. Not particularly fond of the [name_u]Clair[/name_u] spelling.

The spelling [name_u]Clare[/name_u] is an honor name for me, so that’s the spelling I prefer. [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is also pretty, but I am not fond of [name_u]Clair[/name_u] because it looks incomplete.

I personally prefer [name_f]Claire[/name_f] (I adore it, but it feels a bit awkward with our surname, unfortunately). [name_u]Clare[/name_u] is also nice, but it does take me a couple attempts before I remember that there’s no I in that spelling.

I’m not keen on [name_u]Clair[/name_u] - it’s the name of a river near me, and that river is not exactly a nice connection, LOL. It also feels very incomplete without the E on the end.

I definitely prefer [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. This name isn’t overly popular, but every time I’ve seen in, it has always been “[name_f]Claire[/name_f]”…so “[name_u]Clare[/name_u]” just seems wrong. Of course, it is purely a personal preference, so I don’t think you could go wrong with either.

[name_u]Clair[/name_u]…it doesn’t look complete at all, so I would avoid this and just decide between the other two.

I prefer [name_u]Clare[/name_u], but also like [name_f]Claire[/name_f]- so both works for me. [name_u]Clair[/name_u] makes me think of an eclair, the dessert  So I probably wouldn’t use that spelling, myself.

I’d expect [name_f]Claire[/name_f] to be chosen in a poll as it is the most common spelling, however I favour [name_u]Clare[/name_u] too.

I’m a [name_u]Clare[/name_u] and people always misspell it as [name_f]Claire[/name_f] even if it’s written right in front of them. I’ve even been asked if i’ve made a typo when entering my name . Based on this my vote went to [name_f]Claire[/name_f].

As a [name_f]Claire[/name_f], I’d definitely say to spell it [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. It’s the most common spelling. [name_f]Every[/name_f] once in awhile, people misspell my name by leaving off the ‘e’ (which, much like [name_f]Anne[/name_f] - of [name_u]Green[/name_u] Gables - I find hideous), but no one ever assumes it’s [name_u]Clare[/name_u]-without-the-i. I think a [name_u]Clare[/name_u] would constantly be correcting the spelling of her name “[name_u]Clare[/name_u]…with an e…but not with an i…”.

I [name_f]DO[/name_f] actually like the look of [name_u]Clare[/name_u] though. It feels more streamlined.

[name_f]Claire[/name_f]! It’s prettier and more delicate to me, and is more evocative of its meaning, since it’s the [name_m]French[/name_m] for “clear.”

[name_u]Clare[/name_u] seems clunkier and more masculine (reminds me of [name_m]Clarence[/name_m]). [name_u]Clare[/name_u] would also get her name misspelled more often than [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. [name_u]Clair[/name_u] seems incomplete, or like a household brand name. It’s also the masculine form of the [name_m]French[/name_m] word, so doesn’t feel right on a girl.

[name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_u]Clare[/name_u].

My favourite is [name_f]Claire[/name_f], it feels a lot sweeter and friendlier than [name_u]Clare[/name_u] to me. [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is more common but I think both [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_u]Clare[/name_u] are familiar enough to work. [name_u]Clair[/name_u] just looks incomplete.

I’ve long been drawn to the spelling [name_u]Clair[/name_u], really my favourite and a guilty pleasure I think. That said I would probably actually use one of the other spellings in real life. I would go with [name_u]Clare[/name_u] if that is what you feel drawn to, though they’re all good.

I like the [name_f]Claire[/name_f] spelling best.

As others have said, the [name_u]Clair[/name_u] spelling looks somewhat incomplete.

And [name_u]Clare[/name_u] just makes me think of [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] [name_u]Clare[/name_u].

The person I know with this name has it spelled ‘Chlair’ - I think it’s pretty, and now it seems odd to see it written without an H.

[name_f]Claire[/name_f] seems most complete to me. Between [name_u]Clare[/name_u] and [name_u]Clair[/name_u] I prefer [name_u]Clare[/name_u].

I second this - [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is the most feminine [name_f]IMO[/name_f] (and would be my choice), [name_u]Clare[/name_u] is okay but not as much my style, and [name_u]Clair[/name_u] would be the “masculine form” in [name_m]French[/name_m].
