I love [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] ([name_m]Nate[/name_m])! I also really like [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] (but with no nickname, I don’t think [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] needs it) and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]/[name_u]Theo[/name_u] (but I think it’s getting too popular). And [name_m]Felix[/name_m] is one of my favorites.
I really like [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] as a standalone name. I think it’s strong and classic. While it’s being used for girls rather often now, I think it will always be a boy’s name first!
I think a lot of traditional surnames could fit what you’re looking for, though they may be a little less “classic,” but still have a traditional feel. Some thoughts:

So im a little biased having one already XD its a great name. Also the above suggestion of [name_m]Thatcher[/name_m] i think is a great one. And again if hubby would go for it, I would totally use that one too. lol

I can’t speak to its popularity in the UK as I live in the US, but I think it fits what you were describing.
