What do you think? I know its a sword but I also think it could work well as a name. Clay as a nickname.
My husband LOVES it. It is his first choice boy’s name, if my opinion were not involved.
I’m okay with it. I don’t love it but it would grow on me. I really like Clay.
We discussed making a little bargain that if I can use my first choice girl’s name, one that he is okay with but doesn’t love, then he can use Claymore, one that I am okay with but don’t love.
It’s not set in stone, but seriously considering it. We both think its a fair trade off. Of course, there’s a chance we won’t have one of each, etc, so one will never get used, but its a fun little risk we would be willing to take and neither of us would feel resentful or regret the choice.
We already have a Finn (short for Finnegan) and a Piper.
Claymore is interesting! It has a bit of an old-man, kinda cowboyish image to me. I do like just Clay or Clayton more, since Claymore feels a little stuffy, but I don’t think it’s bad! I really like the nickname Clay, and overall the name works with Finnegan & Piper pretty well.
Claymore is intriguing and I kind of like it - [name_m]Clay[/name_m] is very cool though and since you like that, and are okay with Claymore, I’d keep it on the list!
I think it’s cool! I especially love the nickname [name_m]Clay[/name_m].
Claymore in full does make me think of landmines unfortunately, but I don’t think that’s a prominent enough reference to make the name unusable. And I think it’s a good balance since he loves the full name and you love the nickname, so you’ll both get to call him something you’re happy about.
[name_u]Finn[/name_u], [name_u]Piper[/name_u], and [name_m]Clay[/name_m] make perfect sibling names.
I think it’s quite cool! [name_m]Stuffy[/name_m] in the coolest, most charming way. I like it a lot with [name_u]Piper[/name_u] and [name_u]Finnegan[/name_u] nn [name_u]Finn[/name_u].
It is an intriguing option. I also love nn [name_m]Clay[/name_m], but Claymore personally would not be my first choice of full name. If you and your husband like it though, it’s a good compromise name and works well in the sibset.
