What do we think of [name_f]Clea[/name_f]? She’s really growing on me! I love the vibe of [name_u]Cleo[/name_u] but our last name ends in -o and I’m worried it would be repetitive. So, [name_f]Clea[/name_f] could be a good alternative!
I know the typical pronunciation is “clay-uh”, but is “clee-uh” usable? Which pronunciation do you prefer?
I would have naturally pronounced it “Clee-uh.” I might wonder if her full name was [name_f]Cleopatra[/name_f] and if you really loved ancient history.
I like [name_f]Clea[/name_f]! I prefer the clay-uh pronunciation, clee-uh is very pretty but makes me think of clitoris (to be fair I think of the same thing with Clio). I think [name_u]Cleo[/name_u] would also work fine even with an O ending surname as long as it doesn’t also have a Cl- in it. Overall I think it’s pretty with a recognizable sound while being common
I love [name_f]Clea[/name_f]! I prefer the clay-uh pronunciation, but clee-uh certainly works. She feels very cool and Continental to me. I’d pair with siblings [name_u]Ezri[/name_u], [name_u]Noor[/name_u], Daphne… definitely a great alternative for [name_u]Cleo[/name_u].
I’d always pronounced this Clee-uh until I learned that it could be pronounced Clay-uh too! It was in a book I read as a kid, with the Clee-uh pn and I always found it pretty sweet and charming, quietly distinctive with understated flair? I don’t mind either pn but I have soft spot for Clee-uh
Funnily enough [name_f]Clea[/name_f] is a common name in the other language I speak so in that context I’d pronounce it clay-uh but the brit in me would pronounce it clee-uh just because it’s like cleo with an a. Because of this you’d have to take into consideration that it’ll be pronounced differently in different countries but that happens with most names anyway so I wouldn’t bother. I love it as a name though !
