Clementine Rose?

I still like [name_f]Rose[/name_f] in the middle, even though I know that has become taboo. I like [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] – yeah – I’m one of those. But I assumed that [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] just wouldn’t work, even though I rather like it. I like the sound, but if I think about it, I get a color clash. See what I mean?

Is all this crazy? Would you pair [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] with [name_f]Rose[/name_f]?

[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is too wordy for my comfort level. It’s more of a description of a THING than a [name_m]PERSON[/name_m]'s name. It’s also a confusing description (one is a fruit and the other is a flower). However, for the record, orange roses actually do exist and they’re very beautiful. Personally, I would use another mn and pair [name_f]Rose[/name_f] with a non-word first name. I’m one of those people too - I love [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] and I like [name_f]Rose[/name_f] - just not together!

I can understand the color clash. I agree with mischa, that [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] are both beautiful names, but not together. Have you considered [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] with a more classic middle like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Anne[/name_f], or [name_f]Mae[/name_f]?

It isn’t bad, and certainly most non-berries probably wouldn’t question it (the pairing with [name_f]Rose[/name_f], i mean. They’ll probably think [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is weird) but for me, the combo is too word-y. Since both are names that are also commonplace words.

I have [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] on my list, and [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] is another word-that-is-also-a-name (well [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] is the name and blithe is the word but you understand), but i feel that since is less commonly used it kind of works as an exception.

[name_m]Both[/name_m] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] are lovely, but together they almost seem like they’re describing something, if that makes sense. But maybe you could consider a second middle? Or something that makes it less wordy/descriptive (if that bothers you)? [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], for example, seems less wordy. Or [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosaline[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]?

I really like it, which might be because I adore! [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]/[name_f]Clementina[/name_f], and also [name_f]Rose[/name_f]! I think its gorgeous

I think [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is gorgeous. I love the meaning of [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is such an elegant name. Yes, they could be viewed as word names but they could also be viewed as the vintage, classic names they both are.

I love timeless, old fashioned, sweet names. It’s actually a name I considered but I want the perfect name just in case one is all I have. I’m not expecting I just am obsessed with names. [name_u]Haven[/name_u] been since I was a kid. But I think most girls are that way.

PERFECT NAME!

I think it’s beautiful! Yes, [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and both technically word names, but neither of them are like [name_f]Apple[/name_f] or [name_f]Star[/name_f] or something where they’re not normally thought of as a name. They’re both classic names that will be seen first as names, not objects.

Why would people ‘think [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is weird’?? I think it’s a gorgeous name.

[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] sounds lovely. A pleasing sound.

I don’t think of the fruit when I hear the name; I think of the lovely old sad song. And I don’t think of the color rose so much as the roses I grow in my garden.

So at that level, for me anyway, the name works well.

I think [name_f]Rose[/name_f] might be over-used, but who cares? Few say the middle name anyway and it sounds pretty with the more substantial [name_f]Clementine[/name_f].

I think it works! They’re not too obviously wordy.

I agree with this.

I don’t like it cause it’s two object names… Fruit and [name_f]Flower[/name_f].

Thank you everyone for the thoughtful responses. I was cheered by all the encouragement – maybe it is not as crazy as I thought.

I have tried on some other middle names in my brain, but [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is the one I go back to again and again. I tried to sell myself on [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u], but while I think it is suitable – even lovely – it just hasn’t taken. Mentally I first think ‘[name_f]Rose[/name_f]’ and have to correct myself.

As for the other suggestions, thank you all. I think many would go weak at the knees for [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f], but I am not sure. Maybe I just think to try it out for a few days? The problem is that I could like to use [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] Whatever with [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_u]Bay[/name_u] – which becomes way too cute! Maybe if I rethought the boy’s name, I could use [name_f]Mae[/name_f] in my girl’s?

I like it. I do understand [name_u]Mischa[/name_u]'s point about the double word-name thing, though.
