Clementine w/ nickname Lemon?

Opinions on [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] with the nickname [name_m]Lemon[/name_m]?

I think it’s a bit silly, imo. [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] nn [name_m]Lemon[/name_m] seems like a strange combination, because it’s two citrus fruits. It really doesn’t make sense to me - [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] nn [name_f]Emmie[/name_f] or [name_u]Lennie[/name_u] makes a lot more sense to me.

I agree with the above! I’m not sure I see the connection between [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] and [name_m]Lemon[/name_m], besides their both being citrus fruits.

I see the connection, C-[name_m]Lemon[/name_m]-tine Is how I pronounce [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] I just never realized the [name_m]Lemon[/name_m] part was in there until this question was asked. Of course the emphasis on different sounds doesn’t make the [name_m]Lemon[/name_m] part obvious. I think it would be cute, sometimes nicknames are a little silly like that. To me it makes them even more endearing.

It’s cute! The full name being [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] gives her the option to use that if she wants, while [name_m]Lemon[/name_m] is a cute nn for home (or outside of home if she wanted).

I’d have to vote no. By all means, you could theoretically come up with any pet name for your child as you wish, but I think it sounds odd and “lemon” has some pretty negative connotations to saddle a girl with (for example, a lemon is a object that is ruined, broken, defective, etc and there is an even worse slang term containing the word lemon which I will not mention). I’d wager that many people pronounce [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] to where “[name_m]Lemon[/name_m]” does make much sense. Idk…just because we could do something, doesn’t always mean we should lol.

I think [name_m]Lemon[/name_m] is a really cute nickname!

I second namergirl3, i would not nn a child lemon

I’m thinking [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] has so many cute options, I’m not sure [name_m]Lemon[/name_m] is the best… maybe [name_m]Lemmie[/name_m], [name_f]Emme[/name_f], [name_f]Tina[/name_f], Cleme… spelling it Lemen makes it a little more appealing to me, since it doesn’t remind me of an actual [name_m]Lemon[/name_m].

I think [name_m]Lemon[/name_m] is a cute nickname! I never thought of [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] like that, its a really good find.

I agree that it sounds ridiculous. Maybe as a pet name

[name_m]Just[/name_m] as a pet name but I think it takes away from how cute [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is on its own!

[name_m]Lemon[/name_m] comes from C-lemen-tine

[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is a lovely name with a lot of spunk and sass. I can see that [name_m]Lemon[/name_m] could be a cute nn as well as Lemonade, [name_m]Lemon[/name_m] Pie, [name_m]Lemon[/name_m] Drop. [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] also has lots of other options [name_u]Clem[/name_u], Clemmi, [name_f]Clea[/name_f], [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], [name_f]Minnie[/name_f], [name_f]Minty[/name_f], [name_f]Tiny[/name_f], [name_f]Tyne[/name_f], [name_m]Lem[/name_m], [name_m]Lemmie[/name_m], Lema, Cline, [name_f]Lena[/name_f], Darling or even Pumpkin (that one has nothing to do with [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]). Any name can be a nickname for any name. If you love it then go for it.
I’d love to meet a little [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] on the playground.
Good [name_m]Luck[/name_m]
