I love the spelling [name_u]Cleo[/name_u] but it has strong association to [name_f]Cleopatra[/name_f] so I’m now considering the name [name_f]Clio[/name_f]
[name_m]Can[/name_m] you tell me how you feel about the name?
Especially the personality you can think of
I prefer [name_u]Cleo[/name_u] and don’t associate it with just [name_f]Cleopatra[/name_f]. The only one I ever knew personally was just [name_u]Cleo[/name_u]. It’s when I was a little kid And she was my grandmother’s age. I always thought that was the coolest name’
I much prefer [name_u]Cleo[/name_u]. Such a cool name!
Definitely, definitely [name_u]Cleo[/name_u]!
I’ll blur this bit, but the [name_f]Clio[/name_f] just makes me think of female anatomy: the clitoris. Not a bad thing, not a bad word, but even so, not something I personally would want anyone to associate with my name. That’s just my personal take and association, however! I’d bet that there are plenty of people who wouldn’t think of that, but it stands out to me.
As for personality, I don’t think the spelling would alter my ideas. I picture a [name_u]Cleo[/name_u] / [name_f]Clio[/name_f] as a peppy, spirited person with a vibrant imagination and excited nature. Someone with interesting ideas and a quick mind!
Both are equally beautiful.
However, I can see [name_u]Cleo[/name_u] constantly being misread as an alternative spelling of [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] with names getting more creative and unique.
[name_f]Clio[/name_f] avoids that issue.
[name_u]Or[/name_u] getting creative yourself and using a K? [name_f]Kleo[/name_f] and [name_f]Klio[/name_f] do get some use.
I like the [name_f]Cleopatra[/name_f] association but it’s not what I would think of first if I met a little girl with the name.
If I were you, I wouldn’t worry about what people would assume or associate with the name and use that variation that feels most natural to you.
I picture a bright eyed young girl with a determined attitude and a kind heart. I think [name_u]Cleo[/name_u] would be a well respected name at any age and can easily picture it on a teenager, a business woman and a grandma.
I much prefer [name_u]Cleo[/name_u]. I just find it more visually appealing, plus [name_f]Clio[/name_f] just makes me think of the car model (Renault Clio). I see a [name_u]Cleo[/name_u] as serious, studious, cerebral yet strong and spunky. A takes no prisoners kind of person.
I wouldn’t link [name_u]Cleo[/name_u] to [name_f]Cleopatra[/name_f] and it looks better to me
I like both!! Slightly prefer [name_u]Cleo[/name_u], although if I’m being honest my top spelling is [name_f]Kleo[/name_f]
I like [name_u]Cleo[/name_u] better. I live in Michigan and there is a town called [name_f]Clio[/name_f] but it is pronounced Cl-eye-oh.
I like both, but I first came across [name_f]Clio[/name_f] as the muse of history in Greek mythology, and personally that adds a really important meaning for me.
Obviously they sound the same, but I think [name_f]Clio[/name_f] would be quieter, more thoughtful and reserved, whereas [name_u]Cleo[/name_u] would be more bouncy, playful, and energetic
i vote cleo. i think its an established enough name now to not be only cleopatra.
i unfortunately have to second the comment on clio reminding me of female anatomy
i really like both. cleo is cute, and while it does remind me of cleopatra (not a bad thing, i quite like the name cleopatra tbh), it’s still really fun. clio does remind me of clitoris, which i was actually coming here to say, but it’s not a huge assosciation, and i like the mythological aspect of clio the muse.
I’m an ardent [name_f]Clio[/name_f] [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f] (as a combo) supporter.
[name_f]Clio[/name_f] seems a bit wilder to me. I like both.
[name_u]Cleo[/name_u] is a much, much nicer way to spell and see it.
I like [name_f]Clio[/name_f] much better.
[name_f]Clio[/name_f] to me is a full name and the muse.
[name_u]Cleo[/name_u] seems more like it’s short for [name_f]Cleopatra[/name_f] and makes me think of snakes and cats.
[name_u]Cleo[/name_u] most definitely. [name_f]Clio[/name_f] is only a car make to me.
Oh… thx…
