Is [name_f]Clover[/name_f] usable? [name_u]Will[/name_u] it age well? Is it trendy? Iā€™d love to hear yā€™alls thoughts

Personally, I donā€™t like [name_f]Clover[/name_f] very much ā€“ I think it sounds like a pet rabbitā€™s name. But, I have names on my list that are very common for dogs, so I canā€™t really be talking, lol.

I definitely donā€™t think itā€™s unusable. It has a similar sound to [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], or the trendy [name_u]Ever[/name_u]. Plus uncommon nature names are very much in and on the rise right now. I also think that if a [name_f]Clover[/name_f] ever did feel her name was too unusual or childish, she could always go by [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], [name_f]Clo[/name_f], Cece/CC/Cici, or [name_f]Vera[/name_f].

Also, I do kind of adore the fact that the middle letters spell ā€˜loveā€™

This is the fear I have . However, lots of ā€œpetā€ names have caught on for kids, but it is a gamble :woman_shrugging:t2:

I love [name_f]Clover[/name_f] ā€“ I think itā€™s modern, adorable and sassy. I think itā€™s usable, but whether Iā€™d use it myself or not is a question for another day. I love all aspects of it, and I would be glad if someone were to use it for their child.

I like it! I find it super fresh and nice. And donā€™t worry, even [name_f]Luna[/name_f] was considered a dog name before, but it is a perfectly fine and normal name - maybe we just need to hear it more.

Itā€™s very useable for a pet, especially a rodent. I had an adorable pet mouse named [name_f]Clover[/name_f] and it is a character in Watership Down, a perseverant and adaptable mother rabbit. I could also really see it being used in a 19th century book, maybe by the same author as [name_u]Anne[/name_u] of [name_u]Green[/name_u] Gables. I donā€™t think itā€™s a very good name for a modern day girl, but compared to some of the questionable names parents use these days, it seems useable, just maybe better for a nickname or middle name.

I think its lovely! I think its cute, but still has a mature enough sound to age well. And has plenty of nn opportunity, [name_f]Clo[/name_f], [name_f]Cloey[/name_f], [name_f]Vera[/name_f], [name_u]Love[/name_u], [name_f]Cece[/name_f].

I think it could work. Not a personal fave, but it is cute and stylish and shares sounds/looks/features with more popular names like [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], [name_u]Cleo[/name_u], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_u]Piper[/name_u], [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f] etc that make it feel more ā€˜nameyā€™ and substantial.

From a UK perspective, right now, names like [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] and [name_f]Blossom[/name_f] are gaining popularity (in the 100s or 300s) and names like [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] are in the top 20, so to me, I think it would work with the current era of kids growing up.

I really like [name_f]Clover[/name_f] :four_leaf_clover:

Sheā€™s whimsical, bright, outdoorsy, fun, stylish and looks visually gorgeous with the word ā€˜loveā€™ sandwiched in the middle of the c & r ~ honestly Iā€™m a fan! I also love the symbolism behind [name_f]Clover[/name_f] with connotations to luck and feel she would be a great way to pay tribute to Ireland/Irish heritage. Personally I can see why youā€™d find [name_f]Clover[/name_f] trendy she has a trendy feel to her like [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] does but in my opinion I wouldnā€™t label her trendy like I would label [name_f]Isla[/name_f] trendy. I wouldnā€™t tie her to this period of time which would result her dating like [name_f]Karen[/name_f] youā€™d associate with boomers for example. In relation to aging well I think you have such a wide variety of names being used all these children will grow up so 30 year old [name_f]Clover[/name_f] will also share her work place with 33 year old [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] so I wouldnā€™t focus on this too much. However I think [name_f]Clover[/name_f] has quiet strength with the ā€˜erā€™ ending which makes her feel useable for an adult. Regarding pet name I wouldnā€™t worry about this either pets are called a variety of different names (my dog is [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] for example) so in my opinion animals can rock human names and people can rock animal names!

In a nutshell love [name_f]Clover[/name_f] if only I could get my S/O on boardā€¦

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps

I can see [name_f]Clover[/name_f] aging so beautifully! A newborn [name_f]Clover[/name_f]? Absolutely angelic. A toddler [name_f]Clover[/name_f]? [name_f]Chatty[/name_f] kid running in the wind. A teen [name_f]Clover[/name_f]? I donā€™t know why, but I think sheā€™d have glorious hair. [name_u]An[/name_u] adult [name_f]Clover[/name_f]? She takes no oneā€™s nonsense! And a granny [name_f]Clover[/name_f]? Sheā€™s story-telling, garden-loving the granny everyone wants and/or loves to have.

[name_f]Clover[/name_f] is such an exciting, ethereal, springish, and blithe name. I like it so much!! A good balance of hippy-nature and cool-book-character-chic, as were the Hazels and Violets of yore.

Alsoā€¦ :rabbit2: in terms of Watership Down and the general bunny-fication of the nameā€¦ it is worth a note that [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] as well is a Watership Down rabbitā€™s name but is now hardly ever associated with that book or bunny. Time will tell with sweet [name_f]Clover[/name_f] all the same!

I love it! While itā€™s on trend I donā€™t find it trendy. It reminds me of names like patience, [name_f]Constance[/name_f], amity. A bit obscure yet lovely!
I would absolutely use clover especially as a middle name!

I love this description; it reminds me of other ā€œspunkyā€ names (label, poppy, etc.) :sparkles::white_heart:

This was a big association for me ngl, and now I love luna too :heart:

Iā€™m really glad :cupid: itā€™s important to me that I can see a name across age groups!

i love love love clover!! to me itā€™s a unique-sounding, less used alternative to super popular botanical names like rose and daisy. it reminds me of like an ivy or a briony or a ginger since itā€™s less frilly and flowery and more grassy and herby, which i love. in my actual gardening and bouquets i love lots of leaves and ferns and greenery mixed in with flowers and that makes me love clover! i could see clover being a little mud-covered curly-haired toddler, a moody teenager learning to crochet and play soccer, a college kid furnishing their first apartment at flea markets and trying to not hate tinder, a middle aged professional racking up vacation days and dominating bar trivia nights, and a sweet old grandparent who keeps lots of pets and gives the kids cash at family parties.

i definitely think itā€™s a weird one that may get you some looks and judgement, but i love it anyway. plenty of people use names i hate and the world keeps turning! i donā€™t think i see kids bullying a clover for their name but adults may react weirdly and say rude things or take a grown up clover less seriously. if youā€™re afraid of this maybe use it as a middle? but i love clover regardless, i donā€™t think of it as a pet name or a babyā€™s name only, and i can definitely see it becoming more accepted as word names become more common and people keep looking for more off-the-beaten-path nature names!

@jadzianoel @seawillow i love clover too! [name_f]My[/name_f] S/O had primrose picked out for a long time, until the hunger games came out, and everyone talked about how ā€œcrazyā€ the names were! :upside_down_face::sweat_smile: I think clover would be a great alternative (especially if we use primrose as a mn for another sib) :green_heart::sparkles:
