would Cobain work as a name or middle name for a future son?
Yes, but you would forever get the association with [name]Kurt[/name] Cobain, though maybe not with the future generation.
I would use it for the middle name just in case [name]Nirvana[/name] gets big again with the grunge revival swinging in.
I like it, but i hear Cocaine and i do love the [name]Kurt[/name] Cobain tie but not as a first name definatly a middle.
I disagree with the first two posters. I’m guessing you would be naming the child as an honoring nod to [name]Kurt[/name] Cobain… otherwise I don’t know how you came up with that name. So if people think of [name]Kurt[/name] Cobain when they hear your son’s name, that’s not a bad thing; it’s exactly what you intended! People have been honoring the musicians who inspire them for years: nobody thinks it’s odd to hear of someone named [name]Dylan[/name] or [name]Marley[/name], after all! But those guys started making music in the 60’s, so their names have been well known a lot longer. In ten years, there will probably be more little Cobains. I say go for it.
You could do it, but of course the first thing that came to mind (like the first 2 posters) was [name]Kurt[/name] Cobain and followed by cocaine.
