If you were to attempt to honor two female family members named May and Mary as the title suggests. How would you go about doing it? I’m not convinced it can be done but am too curious to not ask ![]()
Nameberry says that [name_f]May[/name_f] is already from [name_f]Mary[/name_f] so…another [name_f]Mary[/name_f] variant like [name_f]Mara[/name_f]? [name_u]Or[/name_u] something like [name_f]Esmeray[/name_f].
I’d just use [name_f]May[/name_f]. I might use Mary-May! That’s very sweet!
Like another poster said, May is originally just a Mary nickname, so both May and Mary on their own would be honouring May & Mary. Or, another Mar- name would work just as well. Maybe even something with a similar sound, like Maisie, or a name with the same meaning like Annemarie, Malia, Molly, Meike, Mhairi, Mirren, Miriam, Mitzi, etc.
[name_f]Amara[/name_f]
[name_f]Amaya[/name_f]
[name_u]Amari[/name_u]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]
[name_f]Marjorie[/name_f]
[name_f]Margret[/name_f]
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Maren[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeva[/name_f]
[name_f]Maurya[/name_f]
[name_u]Or[/name_u] just [name_u]Marie[/name_u] or [name_u]Maria[/name_u] would be beautiful!
[name_f]Maëlle[/name_f] is beautiful too but may get mispronounced
[name_f]Mayre[/name_f]
I would just use [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and use [name_f]May[/name_f] as a nn. as [name_f]May[/name_f] is a nickname for Mary…so they are versions of the same name.
