The abbreviation NB is so confusing- I really don’t want to mix up newborn, non-binary, and Nameberry!
It’s usually pretty easy to tell which is which by context clues!
Let me also add MTF, FTM, FtN, & MtN.
I have MTF and FTM in the Girl, Boy, and [name_u]Baby[/name_u] Names section (unless you mean something else that I’m unaware of), as well as AFAB and AMAB. I will add the other two though!
@athxna here’s a list of the abbreviations! [name_f]Welcome[/name_f] to forums!
IMO - in my opinion
IMHO - in my honest opinion
prn. - pronounced
lol for some reason i thought that DH meant Da (like the) Husband and the same for DW, DD, DS
Yes, thank you, I had no idea what a CAF was for like the first two weeks (On my old account)
Same!
On CAFs I see NBC (non-binary child) as a way to differentiate it from NB (newborn). Also EXP/Exp. means Expecting, used to describe an unborn child carried by a pregnant character.
This is an awesome glossary, thanks!
hii i was wondering if anyone could tell me what nee means on here? i’ve seen it quite a bit in the caf threads and i’m always so confused haha
also for nb, i always thought it meant ‘not born’ as in they’re still pregnant. didn’t realize it meant newborn up until a little bit ago
“née” is just the [name_u]French[/name_u] word for “born”, indicating that this is someone’s maiden name! (ex. [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] Bieber née Baldwin)
oh!! that makes sense. thank you :))
i’ve seen tdfm around here recently! not sure what it means haha
Are you talking about this? I was confused at first too but it’s the poster’s username
omg, yeah! thanks i was so lost and i kept looking it up but it didn’t make sense
[name_m]Just[/name_m] seen NOTD on a post. What does it mean? NOTD on nameberry? I’ve googled it and now more confused.
Name of the [name_u]Day[/name_u]
Thank you! I tried Google and it said ‘Not Our Type, Dear’. Name of the day makes so much more sense
IMHO In [name_f]My[/name_f] Humble/Honest Opinion.
Sorry if I’ve done this wrong, I’m a complete newbie.
