Common names you don't hear anymore?

What is a name you can think of that people know but you rarely hear?

Example
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Wilma[/name_f]
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f]

[name_f]Margaret[/name_f]
[name_u]Morgan[/name_u]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] (on anyone under 40)

Maybe it is just where I’m at, but I barely ever hear these names.

@namergirl3: It is fascinated how regional names are! I easily know half a dozen to a dozen each of school age girls with the names you mention, but I grew up in the seventies and eighties without ever meeting a single [name_f]Amanda[/name_f]. Now I know a couple of very little ones.

I also know a handful of Fionas. As for names I know of but don’t anyone with:
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Sybil[/name_f]
[name_f]Edith[/name_f]
[name_f]Miriam[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]
[name_f]Polly[/name_f]
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_f]Gloria[/name_f]
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f]
And believe it or not … [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]!

Interesting! We live just outside of [name_m]Boston[/name_m] and I hear so many of the above names - I know a [name_f]Miriam[/name_f], a handful of Katherines, Carolines, a [name_u]Dory[/name_u] for [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f], a [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], two Violets, a [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], many Louisas, a [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], a [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] and a handful of Margarets/[name_f]Maggie[/name_f]/[name_f]Mari[/name_f]. I have two daughters so this is made up of their friends and classmates. I feel like there are 3 old/vintage names per one common/modern name where we are and perhaps that is why I’m searching for something more modern to work with my [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] for our third! A few names that come to mind that I don’t hear (other than names from the 80s) are [name_f]Marie[/name_f], [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], [name_f]Constance[/name_f], [name_f]Barbara[/name_f], and a plain simple [name_f]Anne[/name_f] or [name_f]Lynne[/name_f].

I know just one [name_f]Fiona[/name_f], who is almost 26 now. I wish such beautiful names get more love.

I haven’t met an [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] in years. I went to school with a bunch, but don’t know any under the age of 30 now.
